Amsterdam's Vondelpark was a sea of orange for the annual Queens Day celebrations.
The Vondelpark is traditionally the place where children can perform, play, sell the toys they’ve grown too big for and the outfits they wouldn’t be seen dead in now that they’re sophisticated 12 year olds.

If you can play an instrument it's a chance to earn a few euros.

You could play along with the drummer. We loved the way he worked with the little kids..

Circus acts were very popular.

So was getting your face made up by the big girls.

If you dance like there's nobody watching, people soon WILL be watching.

Oh, the boys and their toys!

Some ended the day full of bounce...

...but the festive spirit just washes past some people.

What a great, fun day.
Not as professionally organised as an Italian Carnivale parade, of course, but indeed, really good fun, especially for children.
