We stood by the roadside in our thousands, wondering who would be first out of the tunnel when the Tour de France arrived at our vantage point.
The peloton was led by an unknown rider who’d somehow strayed onto the route on his way to work.
I applaud his efforts and offer him as my entry in this Weekly Photo Challenge.
We’d really come to see this:
Regular readers may have noticed a lack of activity on RT’s LOTR recently. Real work has been eating into my blogging time (so inconvenient!) I’ll try to do better when Mevrouw T and I head off on the road again – it won’t be too long.

I love this! I wonder if the guy ever found out that he was on the route! Pretty funny!
He never showed any reaction, but he must have noticed something was going on.
Wow, that makes it even better!!!!!
But did he get the yellow jersey?
Well, it was only Day 2, so as long as he didn’t lose too many minutes in the Prologue Time Trial, he would have been the virtual leader.
It’s a great picture and he appears to be completely oblivious?
I bet the guy knew what was going on. Also in Rotterdam cyclists use the cycle paths along the road. During the Tour de France, people stand on the cycle paths and cyclists have to use the road. But not showing any reaction makes it more cool to cycle there. I saw the same thing in 2009, when the Giro d’Italia crossed Houten.
Good photos, nice story but I can only handle so many Jamie F.Oliver ads especially as they seem to be on a continuous play loop !
Unfortunately I don’t get to choose the ads on this blog. Time to upgrade to Pro perhaps?
Now I am really confused. “Pro” what ?

Knuckles, if you pay some money to WordPress, you become a ‘Pro’ blogger and, among other advantages which I don’t entirely understand, they stop posting ads on your blog.
So far I’ve been too much of a cheapskate to upgrade. Maybe someone who’s tried it could advise me how it works?
Richard, sorry,I thought that I had to upgrade to Pro to avoid the annoying J.F.O.
I commented because,on your blog,I have never before seen little video ads running over and over.
As the host of the blog, I never get to see the ads when I log on myself.
There could be even more annoying things than Jamie on there and I’d never know unless someone like you tells me. So thanks for that.

Richard I’m currently feeling a little overwhelmed with bicycle choice, as I’m trying to research them all this morning…a little diversion, your blog of course!
That photo is a cracker.
Thanks, chfg.
Good one
Wonderful image of the lone cyclist, he must have been thinking it was his lucky day – a traffic free route
