My Flowing Maple 007
Under the circumstance that Junko and Google, that heartless legitimate couple, have flown to Spain for their honeymoon, I am waiting alone painfully for the day of blind date, living in a kind of bitter and helpless situation.
These past few days I've been stuck in a small room of less than ten square meters, reorganizing all the bits and pieces about Yu Tian that I'd gathered from every nook and cranny of my closet and desk into two huge cardboard boxes.
That was the wristband he used when playing basketball in his sophomore year, black, same as Akira's, it was a gift from me.
That was the ballpoint pen he used in his freshman year, I especially admire people who can use up the ink of a ballpoint pen, so I secretly picked up this pen that couldn't write.
There's also the complete set of 53 from his third year in high school, with very detailed notes. When he graduated, many girls rushed to grab it, but he gave it to me instead. He said that since I'm stupid and not good at studying, he hoped it could help me graduate smoothly. At that time, we weren't together yet, and I always thought Yu Tian disliked me.
They were all symbols of youth, both rotten and glittering with gold.
When I went abroad, it was too rushed and there was no time to pack these things. The last two large boxes were moved into the storage room by me, preparing to choose a auspicious day to send them to the residents' committee to donate to Project Hope.
On the day of the blind date, I started hoping that the scheduled time would be later.
As a result, I was still carefully dressed up by the beautiful old lady.
"Good baby, don't lose face for Mom."
Baby, these two words really gave me a chill, but I still followed my mom's instructions and arrived half an hour early at the meeting place. The first floor of a very high office building, Starbucks.
The blind date object is a bespectacled IT man. The clothes on him look expensive, all luxury brands with a sense of superiority, but I don't like it.
I started doubting my mom's taste while continuously stirring the hazelnut coffee beside me, listening to the IT guy's tedious long-winded talk.
"Miss Driver?"
I came back to myself with a rather awkward smile, "Hehe, I'm a bit sleepy."
The Starbucks in the CBD is always more crowded than the small food stalls on the side of the road, especially around 8 or 9 o'clock at night, when it's packed with young people who are either preparing to work overtime or have just finished working overtime.
The man also made an appointment in the evening, saying he was too busy at work.
Then he started talking endlessly about overtime, from astronomy and geography to revenge against society. I continued to look around and just as the people at the next table left, I saw two men walking over with their heads down in conversation.
That figure, so familiar.
It turned out to be a narrow road, they sat down at the next table when I saw one of them was Yu Tian. Yu Tian also saw me, he just glanced at me with a somewhat disdainful expression and smiled sarcastically.
It's obvious that the IT guy was completely destroyed by Yu Tian, both inside and out. Our conversation style is almost like being labeled as a blind date by a big yellow note.
Yu Tian didn't care about our table at all, but instead I would occasionally glance over to see him focused on his work. He still had that deadpan expression, pursing his lips and furrowing his brow as he thought while twirling his pen.
His way of turning pens is so damn special. I don't know how many innocent girls' hearts have been murdered in these years either.
"It's late, shall I send you back?"
"En xing." I replied with a refreshing swiftness, this was exactly what I had been expecting all night. As I left, I didn't forget to take one last look at Yu Tian, that bastard didn't even lift his head.
I followed the IT guy to the underground parking lot. The further we walked in, the darker it got. In order to save energy, only one out of every few fluorescent lights was lit.
"Or I'll wait for you outside..." Before I could even finish speaking, I was already being hugged.
"What's the point of pretending?"
As expected, this world has never lacked weirdos, I'm really not surprised at all...
