Broken in 2022
About an hour later, the office door was finally opened, and I looked at Yu Tian, suddenly having a strong urge to rush up and hug him.
That memory of the glass bottle successfully triggered the dopamine in my brain, and the irrepressible excitement was bursting out from all over my body. They brought with them a strong and intense aura, which frankly and crudely filtered away the unpleasant expression on Yu Tian's face.
Unfortunately, as I walked over, what greeted me was Vivian's face, enlarged countless times yet still delicate.
Yu Tian walked past me and sat down in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, his hands propping up his head, looking very tired.
I suddenly realized that things were developing in a thrilling direction, and Vivian had already called two security guards to stand beside me.
She held a printed computer operation record with some annotations made by marker pen.
"Is a Trojan file received through your computer and do I need to give you some time to explain? Don't tell me this is just a prank."
Vivian stared at me while raising her hand, unexpectedly knocking over the glass bottle that I had just moved outside. The bottle shattered on the ground into a mess of shards.
The coins inside jumped out one by one and fell heavily on the ground.
My mind suddenly went blank and I wanted to squat down to pick it up, but was stopped by the security guard. My wrist was pinched so painfully that I felt discouraged again.
I turned to look at Yu Tian, he still lowered his head, the blurred outline of his body silently being absorbed into the world outside the window with the waves. He didn't speak, nor did he care or blame.
"I don't know." Facing Vivian again, my explanation sounded particularly weak, to the extent that it was almost as good as admitting.
But this inadequately tragic weakness gives people a feeling that is more like blasphemy to this solemn and cruel scene, I pursed my lips as if preparing to see Vivian's face twisted into a shocking horror movie.
In fact, her face was even paler, and even her tone of complaint could no longer be heard.
"You don't need to come to work for now, go collect your things, I will notify you by phone after the investigation result comes out."
After Vivian finished speaking, she pushed the door and left, the sound of the door closing was very solemn.
And I, under the gaze or surveillance of two security guards, prepared to walk out with a complicated mood. As I walked to the door, I stiffly turned around, and Yu Tian also raised his head, our eyes colliding in mid-air.
I shook my head gently, my eyes feeling heavy and unfocused, "It really wasn't me."
The door was pushed open again, this time with a much heavier force. Lin walked up to me with an angry face, and I thought he would stand on the same line as Vivian to accuse me, but instead, he grabbed my wrist and blocked me behind him.
Lin glanced at the fragments on the ground and the two security guards with ungentle faces, and I knew he might have misjudged the severity of the situation.
"I guarantee this has nothing to do with Si Xi."
I wanted to shake my head, but Lin Jing pressed on my shoulder and asked, "Have you cried?"
"No, actually..."
Yu Tian has walked up to us and said to the two security guards, "You guys can leave now. Call the janitor later to clean this place."
"Tomorrow." I walked up to him, "That bottle..."
"Just throw it away."
I raised my head to grab his sleeve, but in the end I only pinched the air, and what was left in my line of sight was his increasingly distant back.
After the security guard left, I wanted to pick up those fragments, but Lin suddenly pulled me out. For a moment, I suddenly realized that it was actually a memory discarded by the owner all over the floor.
So I gave up explaining the reasons behind it and just silently digested what was called reality.
Lin and I left Yu Tian's office together, the last glance was a narrow and long shadow cast by the slightly ajar door.
