Bedside attendance

  Bedside companion

I was sent to the hospital, and when I woke up, there were a bunch of people around me, doctors, nurses, my mom, Lin Uncle, Lin Yue, and Lin Jing. I struggled to sit up again, but still felt a bit disappointed.

The doctor said I didn't just have a normal stomachache, but acute appendicitis. And because I had taken painkillers and cup noodles on my own, the situation became even more serious. The best solution was surgery.

I hastily shook my head and weakly pleaded, "Doctor Auntie, I'm really fine, just prescribe me some more medicine, I don't need surgery."

I'm naturally afraid of pain, let alone having to wear a bikini in the future, and having a scar on my belly would be so ugly. My mom naturally went along with me, and Uncle Lin didn't express any opinion either.

It was Lin Yue who stood out in opposition, "If you don't have surgery now, it will still recur later. If this illness is not treated promptly at the hospital, the danger is very great."

My mom was clearly wavering after hearing Lin Yue's words, and I gave Lin a look hoping he could help me out. But to my surprise, Lin also seemed brainwashed and stood on Lin Yue's side, "You have no idea how you looked just now, your face was as white as paper, like you were fished out of formalin."

"What nonsense are you talking about!"

As soon as I raised my hand, it hurt again and furrowed my brow. Lin Yue was right, if I didn't have this surgery, I would be tortured to death.

The surgery was decided like this, Lin Yue had been very busy with work recently but didn't seem to have any intention of leaving, before the surgery my mom and I said "your brother is also doing it for your own good, just now when you weren't awake the doctor suggested surgery, it was your brother who said let you wake up and decide yourself."

I turned my head to take a look at Lin Yue standing far away, he was holding a stack of documents and probably couldn't hear or notice what my mom and I were saying.

The surgery took about two hours, and although I didn't feel any pain during the process, my brain was still clear. I kept thinking about the changes that had taken place in my life during this time. I always thought Lin Yue was hard to get along with, but it turned out she wasn't so indifferent after all. And as for Yu Tian, I've stopped wanting to think about him.

The wound needs to be hospitalized for a week, and the first night can leave a family member to accompany the bed. My mom and Uncle Lin are not young anymore, not suitable for staying up late, and Lin is even more unsuitable. The doctor took a look at Lin Yue and said, "You're her brother? Just you stay."

I didn't expect Lin Yue to agree so readily, and she even said that since they would be staying up all night to review the contract, it was all the same whether they were at the hospital or not.

In the wee hours, I woke up once. The anesthetic had worn off and my wound started to hurt. My throat was also parched. Lin Yue sat beside me, perhaps afraid of disturbing me, he only used the light from his phone screen to look at his phone.

I looked at him, reached out and grabbed his sleeve, and called out "brother" with difficulty.

Lin Yue furrowed her brow and lifted her head, "How did you wake up? Is your wound hurting?"

"Yes, I'd like some water." I nodded silently. If it were my mom or Yu Tian in front of me, I would have thrown myself into their arms without hesitation. Although Lin Yue was showing concern for me, this concern still felt unfamiliar to me.

Lin Yue glanced at the time and then used the back of her hand to check my forehead temperature, "You can't drink water now, bear with it for a bit, go to sleep first, you'll be fine when you wake up in the morning."

Although I rarely see Lin Yue's gentle side, I still can't help but feel wronged in my heart because of today's events.

"Sleep." Lin Yue put my hand back under the quilt and gently patted me on the head twice.
