Chapter 89: Cherry Blossoms in Full Bloom
"What do you need me to do?"
"Meng Er..."
"Yes?"
Jiang Tianyou shook his head and remained silent. The dinner ended in an awkward silence.
"How's my brother doing?" Meng Er asked, gazing out at the night scene as if she didn't care.
"He's fine, I've arranged for a special caregiver to take care of him."
"Okay, thank you."
"Meng Er..." Jiang Tianyou said, his voice low and husky. "You're getting more and more disobedient. Is it because I'm too lenient with you? Or is it because there's no one around, so you can do whatever you want?"
Meng Er looked up at him, her eyes flashing with anger. "I didn't...Gege, Le Feng is Mei'er's older brother. He's very good to me, and we're just friends."
Jiang Tianyou's face darkened as he pulled out a stack of photos from his pocket. Meng Er saw herself in the pictures, taken while she was with Le Feng.
The first photo showed Le Feng holding her hand, their fingers intertwined. The second photo showed Le Feng's hand on her left shoulder, gently removing a flower petal from her hair. But what caught Meng Er's attention was the look in Le Feng's eyes - it was a gaze full of adoration and tenderness.
Meng Er felt a pang of guilt as she looked at the photos. She knew that Jiang Tianyou had been watching her, and he didn't like what he saw.
"This is what you call going to the library with your classmates?" Jiang Tianyou's voice was cold and menacing.
Meng Er looked up at him, a defiant glint in her eye. "I have my own freedom."
"Your freedom doesn't include lying to me," Jiang Tianyou said, his eyes narrowing.
Meng Er smiled, but it wasn't a happy smile. It was a smile that hid the pain and anger she felt inside.
Jiang Tianyou's face darkened even further as he saw the smile. "You think this is funny?" he asked, his voice low and deadly.
Meng Er shrugged, still smiling. "What do you think?"
Jiang Tianyou's eyes flashed with anger as he reached out and grabbed Meng Er's wrist, pulling her back onto the couch. He wrapped his arms around her, holding her close.
"Meng Er, you're getting more and more disobedient," he whispered into her ear. "Is it because I'm too lenient with you? Or is it because there's no one around, so you can do whatever you want?"
Meng Er struggled against him, but Jiang Tianyou held her tight. He covered her mouth with his, his kiss deep and passionate.
But Meng Er didn't respond. She just lay there, frozen in shock and fear.
Jiang Tianyou finally pulled back, his eyes blazing with desire. "Meng Er, I've been patient for too long," he whispered. "I won't wait any longer."
And with that, he reached out and touched her breast, his hand warm and gentle. But Meng Er felt a surge of fear and revulsion. She didn't want this, she didn't want him.
But she knew she had to pretend, for now. So she closed her eyes and let Jiang Tianyou do what he wanted, all the while thinking about how much she hated him.
Finally, Jiang Tianyou pulled back, his chest heaving with exertion. Meng Er opened her eyes and saw the look of satisfaction on his face.
"Meng Er, you should go back to China after your studies are over," he said, his voice still husky from their encounter.
Meng Er nodded, still feeling numb and shocked. "Okay," she said, before turning and walking away.
But as she walked up the stairs, she couldn't shake off the feeling of disgust and fear that lingered inside her.
