Chapter 17 Training (Part 1)

  Chapter 17 Training (Part 1)

Meng'er was wearing earplugs and walked to the car that had been waiting for her, opened the door and got in. "Meng'er, what's making you so happy?" Cang Hai Jun asked, looking at her smiling face as she hummed a tune, and casually removed her earplugs.

"Because my brother is here to pick me up and go home, because I can drink Zhang Jie's delicious soup when I get home!" Meng Er turned off the music and replied sweetly.

Canghai Jun smiled and pinched Meng'er's cheek: "Really getting sweeter, looks like university life is treating you well?"

"Yes, our dormitory is full of lovely people! I don't know if brother wants to get to know them?" Meng Er asked with a sly smile, rotating her big black eyes.

"It's all just little sisters, as long as you get along happily!" Cang Hai Jun patted Meng Er's head.

"Mei'er!" Meng'er had just turned her head to look outside when she saw Mei'er stopped a meter away, looking a bit unpleasant. However, upon hearing Meng'er's greeting, she quickly composed herself and walked over. "Meng'er, haven't gone back yet?" Slightly bowing down, looking at the warm and jade-like man inside, revealing a polite smile. "Good day, Brother Cang Hai!"

Meng'er hadn't even had time to respond to Mei'er's words when Cang Hai Jun helped her out: "Mei'er, it's fine! We're still waiting for a friend, so we haven't gone back yet. Are you going back?" Mei'er didn't dare look at that face anymore and shifted her gaze to the hands grasping the steering wheel, long and powerful, but the smile on Liang's face remained unchanged as he said: "Yes! Meng'er, Cang Hai gege, I'll take my leave first!" As he spoke, he waved goodbye to the two people in the car, stood up straight, and walked away.

  "Big brother, Mei seems unhappy!"

"Fool, everyone has joys and sorrows, it's normal for Mei'er to be unhappy too!"

"Brother, you understand what I mean!" Meng'er looked at Canghai Jun, who was about to avoid the topic, and said with a hint of anger. She hated those who clearly knew a girl's feelings for them but pretended not to see it.

"Hey, Jun! Long time no see!"

A male voice interrupted the conversation between the two siblings, and Meng'er looked up to see that it was Geng Ye. She asked in confusion, "What are you doing at our school?" Meng'er couldn't help but admit that with his single-shoulder bag carrying a sword, Geng Ye was indeed a genuine little zhēnɡuān (young master).

"Xiao Yan, get on the bus first!"

"Alright!" With that, Gang Yan took down the sword bag and put it in the trunk, then opened the car door and sat down in the back seat.

"What are you doing in our school?" Meng'er remembered that Geng Yan wasn't from their school, but was a student at the Sports Academy in University Town. But before she could hear an answer, Cang Haijun spoke up beside her. "Little Yan will be staying with us over the weekend and teaching you swordsmanship!"

"Live in our house?" Meng'er curled her lip, although she had acknowledged that the person was her master, but how could just anyone live in their own home?

"Meng'er, what are you talking about? Xiao Yan is like a younger brother to us, what's wrong with him living in our house?" Qian Tianyou lightly scolded Meng'er for being unreasonable.

"No!" Meng Er replied in a stifled tone, resentfully glancing at Geng Yan through the rearview mirror. Not looking was better; one glance made Meng Er even angrier. That Geng Yan was staring at her with a provocative gaze, and Meng Er shot him another fierce glare before shifting her line of sight to outside the window. The person in the backseat couldn't help but smile comfortably upon seeing Meng Er's face, which was furious.

"Someone just said last week, looking forward to meeting this weekend? Why am I not welcome by someone now?"

"Hmm!" Meng'er let out a single, heavy nasal sound, but her posture remained unchanged. Cang Hai Jun couldn't help but glance at his own sister before continuing to chat with Geng Yan, not caring that Meng'er was still sulking. After returning home and having dinner, Meng'er locked herself in her room.

The next day, Meng Er was ready early and waited for Geng Yan's appearance in the garden.

"You knew that our first lesson would be in the garden too?" Gang Yan teased, looking at Meng Er who had regained her composure.

Meng Er asked seriously: "Do you think you can beat me in the first class?"

Looking at Meng Er's expression, Geng Yan didn't know why he also became very serious in answering her question: "No!"

"That's it!" Meng'er stopped looking at Geng Yan and continued warming up.

Meng Er wouldn't say that to Geng Yan, only the garden has enough space for me to do some basic warm-ups, the space upstairs is just a simple training room. Besides, isn't it better to train outdoors than indoors? Look, the morning scenery is so beautiful, and the air is so fresh! Meng Er wouldn't be unfair to herself!

Geng Yan looked at Meng Er's sporty outfit and started circling around her again. At first, Meng Er was curious and wanted to know what he was looking at, so she followed him with her eyes. But eventually, she got dizzy and just stared straight ahead. Just when Meng Er couldn't take it anymore, Geng Yan finally spoke up. "You're a young lady from a wealthy family, living a life of luxury and comfort, but instead you want to learn swordsmanship!"

"The Son of Heaven is strong, and the gentleman should strive for self-improvement without ceasing!" Meng Er replied loudly.

Perhaps Geng Yan didn't expect Meng Er's voice to suddenly become so loud, or perhaps he was shocked by her words. He stared blankly at Meng Er, as if trying to see through whether she was telling the truth or not. Could it be that one shot had caused this spoiled rich girl to change her ways? "I think you're looking for trouble!"

"Master, how can you be so discouraging to your disciple's motivation?" Then, blinking her big eyes, she looked at Geng Yan with tears in her eyes.

"Cut it out, I don't know you! Run around the garden 20 times for me! Go!" Then someone went and sat on a rattan chair.

  A few minutes later...

"Stretch your waist and legs casually over there, relax your muscles!"

Meng'er looked at Geng Ye lying on the recliner, sipping a drink in his hand and talking to himself. Suddenly, she felt that she had misjudged him, thinking he was a man of martial virtue. Looking at his current behavior, it was just a mess! However, wanting to change herself, she could only endure it! So, she started doing some relaxation exercises, stretching her legs and waist.

The girl thought it was almost done and wanted to ask what to do next. But the person spoke faster than her. "Now, run from the first floor of your house to the third floor, then run back down, repeat this 5 times."

Time passed by... ten more minutes later...

Geng Yan lay on the chair for a long time without seeing Meng'er come out to report, thinking that the girl must have gone lazy. So, he got up to catch someone. As soon as he entered the hall, he saw someone lying at the foot of the stairs, and he hurried over to squat down.

"Big sister, you scared me to death. I thought you were dead, lying there motionless." Geng Yan looked at Meng Er, whose cheeks were flushed red after exercising. Suddenly, he felt that she was actually quite cute. Although she often complained, she would still seriously complete the tasks he assigned to her, even if she felt like he was teasing her.

"Don't worry, King Yan won't dare to take me!" Meng Er panted heavily, seemingly responding to Geng Yan but also talking to herself: "I've already finished running."

"Alright, let's continue this afternoon! Dismissed, go about your own activities! Assemble at the training room at 3 o'clock this afternoon!"

Then Meng'er heard the footsteps going away. She got up, went back to her room, took a bath, lay on the bed, and Meng'er's thoughts drifted away again...

"Big brother, big brother, look! Meng'er has learned qinggong!" As she spoke, Meng'er jumped up, using a stepping stone to propel herself onto the tree. "Big brother, isn't Meng'er amazing?" Six-year-old Meng'er proudly showed off to her own big brother from atop the tree.

"Yes, our Meng'er is the best! Hurry down, that tall tree is very dangerous."

  "Alright, here it comes."

Just as the dream lightly jumped, the floating skirt was hooked on the tree fork, a small mistake disturbed her mind, and she who had just learned the light work lost her balance. Just when she thought she was going to fall to the ground, her brother lightly jumped up and caught her. "I told you it's dangerous, but you don't believe me!" Her brother let her stand firm and continued, "From now on, you can't fly so high unless I permit you."

  "Meng'er, what's wrong with you?"

"Brother?" Meng'er stared at the ceiling, her memories still lingering on the scene of Sheng Yue and her brother together.

"Ah, here you are!" Meng'er suddenly sat up straight and saw Cang Hai Jun standing at the door. She thought that the voice asking "Meng'er, what's wrong with you?" was Sheng Yue Wang Chao's brother. "Tired? Why do you look so dazed?"

"No, brother, how did you come back? Didn't you say there were things to deal with at the company?"

"When Xiaoyan said you were tired, she came back!"

"I'm fine! Are you going back to the company now?"

"No need, just leave the rest to your assistant! If you're too tired, then don't continue practicing!"

"It's nothing, I just lay down and rested for a bit. Look at me now, don't I look fine?"

"Okay! You continue resting then! I'll come call you for lunch! Be good."

  "Good."

Looking at Canghai Jun, who had quietly closed his own door again, Meng'er felt that she was actually quite lucky. In Shengyue, she also had a brother who loved her dearly, and after transmigrating, she also had a brother who loved her dearly. If these things were predestined, then heaven wasn't treating her badly either!
