Aux 1: People, Swarms, and Hysteria.

Humans, unlike real life or traditional media, share some traits to an ancient integrator race that as of now will be unnamed. This integrator race saw the nature of people’s friendships and how certain behaviors and sayings would be mimicked to symbolize closeness ― the integrator attempted this by instead mimicking their appearance to show closeness and intimacy with someone they feel close to.

This trait has since been inherited by humanity, so although people would be born with certain hues to their hair or eyes depending on which nation they are born―often those features change, as they let someone else enter their lives, and embrace the physical changes that would follow.

The Blythes are an example that defies the integrators, although not in malicious intent, they are a clan of warriors who believe in serving their strength for the greater masses. In their pride, they don’t often undergo changes to their appearances as they are raised with a heart of proud chivalry.

The Alda, to be exact, are alien races who arrived through the Abyssal Sea whether intentional or not. They may resemble humans, elves, or even automata, and adopt their new world’s values ― but that’s where similarities end. The magic system which is deeply integrated into the formation of the world interacts very strangely around them. Due to their nature as outlanders and lack of connection with the Integrators, they do not experience their fellow peer’s mimicry.

    • Few ancient Alda got over this physical limitation by expressing closeness through physical change ― through fashion. They will sew cloaks, garments and small accessories, with coded patterns that can depict a variety of things: Whether they are single, married, courting someone, or distinct and vibrant patterns that tell people what kind of life they’ve been living.

    • Due to the increasing popularity, occupations such as seamstresses, garment makers, and material producers are considered priestly/holy jobs.

Swarms and Hysteria are phenomena that directly interact with the soul.

According to the Wisefoxes; agents of the Incandescent Soul, the soul is invincible and no magic in the world, not even from the mightiest Deity the world has always known: The Mind-Author, can damage these creations.

The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

Yet 200 years ago, and due to unknown reasons, a Swarm-Type entity was first sighted and became the downfall of the Brisean Empire, which at the time was the world’s mightiest nation. The Wisefoxes and even the Incandescent Soul were forced to admit that it may not be the case, and that outside elements beyond their ways of perception could be the cause of their manifestation.

Swarms are entities with damaged or corrupted souls, and are often emblematic of a key flaw that humanity, the elves, orcs, or other races may have. As they devour souls, these symbols that they represent become the foundation of their Fell Authorities.

    • Immature Swarms are first sighted with the world announcing a False-Ascension―and then an initial disaster.

    • Imperfect Swarms are Swarms who have attempted a manifestation and failed, despite this, their Fell Authorities are already at a point where they can defile everything that a civilization stands for.

    • Raging Swarms are Swarms in their most perfect, abhorrent forms, they are mightier than any Deities in the world, and their range of effect has increased from the city blocks to the size of whole mega cities. They trample everything that stands in their way, though like with all things, they still have a weakness.

Hysteria is the defining characteristic of the Sapient Races. They are people who built cities rather than grow their physical strength, allowing beings such as Elves, Humans, and Dwarves to subjugate the world in place of the mightier Centaurs, the numerous Goblins, and the enduring Hydras of the world.

Hysteria’s effects don't just rally people into believing a single cause, they change how they fight and do battle in the most fundamental way.

Warrior Groups or an Army all under the effect of Hysteria would essentially have endless stamina, and a level of cooperation so synchronized that they’re effectively a collective consciousness. People’s hatreds bounce off each other, and those hatreds can act in place of people’s need to breathe or fight.

So while True Dragons can decimate whole cities all on their own, a proper dragon-slaying army can fight endlessly and won’t do slip-ups due to fatigue―they will fight for days, even months, until their enemy is worn-down enough that a Dragonslayer can be born from the masses.
