Games in the Dark

Fifty-three heartbeats thundered through the Scorpion Cn's steel mill fortress. The night air grew thick with anticipation, shadows writhing unnaturally in corners where light shouldn't bend. Soon, each heartbeat would become an instrument in Ririi's symphony of terror.

The first light flickered, a harbinger of what was to come. In the darkness between bulbs, something moved. Something wrong.

"Someone check the—" The gang member's words ended in a wet snap, bone fragments scattering across the steel floor like macabre confetti. In the silence that followed, a giggle echoed through steel beams. Pyful. Wrong. The sound danced between machinery, carrying promises of games no human was meant to py.

"Oh my..." Ririi's voice drifted like arctic wind through the facility. Their form materialized from living shadows - wolf ears twitching with predatory excitement, each adorned with two curved horns that seemed to absorb what little light remained. Their eyes were endless pools of darkness, pupils a swirling dance of purple and red that hypnotized their prey. "So many new toys to break."

Chaos erupted as shadows writhed like living tar, snatching men mid-run. Arterial spray decorated industrial equipment while Ririi danced through bullet streams, their white-streaked hair floating in an unseen wind. Their child-like grin split too wide, revealing rows of shadow-teeth that shouldn't exist.

"Tag! You're it!" they sang, shadow tendrils impaling three men and lifting them high. Blood cascaded down like bck rain, crystallizing where it fell. "No, no... you're supposed to run BEFORE I catch you. Silly prey, don't you know the rules?"

Screams mixed with Ririi's melodic ughter as they pyed their twisted game. Men tried to flee, only to be dragged back by living darkness that burrowed under their skin, pushing out through their eyes in writhing tentacles of void. Their horns seemed to grow with each capture, feeding off the terror they harvested.

"Ready or not..." Shadows pierced skulls, corrupting minds as Ririi's multi-colored pupils dited with delight. "Here. I. Come!"

Blood painted walls bck as they skipped through the carnage, tail swaying with predatory grace. Each victim became a puppet in their performance, bones cracking like percussion instruments in their mad orchestra. The shadows danced to the rhythm of breaking bodies, each movement precise and purposeful.

"Dance for me!" they commanded, forcing bodies to move unnaturally. Their horns glowed with absorbed pain. "Oh, your spine isn't supposed to bend that way? My mistake!" Their giggling mixed with the sound of vertebrae popping through skin. "Such fragile toys humans make..." Ririi sang, shadows dancing at their command. "Musical chairs!" They arranged writhing bodies in circles, shadow corruption spreading like frost through their veins. "Oops, someone lost their chair... and their sanity! Let's see what other games we can py!"

Each step left crawling darkness in their wake, reaching hungrily for more prey. "Hide and seek?" They called out pyfully, voice echoing impossibly. "I can smell your fear... it's like sugar to me!" Their grin stretched wider, promising games that no human should survive.

"Simon says..." [wet crunch of bone] "Scream for me!" The shadows pulsed with each shriek, drinking in the terror. "Oh, such lovely voices you all have!"

"Duck, duck..." [sptter of arterial spray] "GOOSE!" Ririi ughed, skipping through puddles of crystallizing blood. "Who wants to py next?"

The cn's boss emptied magazines into the darkness. Ririi appeared behind him, shadows writhing around their form. "Peek-a-boo!" Shadows plunged into his brain. "I spy with my little void... something red and screaming!"

"You humans..." they giggled, dancing through the carnage. "Always thinking you're the apex predators." A shadow tendril caressed his face, leaving frost-burnt skin. "Until you meet something from the void."

The night stretched endlessly as Ririi pyed their games. Each victim became part of their twisted performance - bones snapping in rhythm, screams forming melodies, blood painting patterns across steel walls.

By dawn, fifty-three bodies y arranged in a perfect spiral. Their hair had turned white as snow, minds shattered, mouthing silent screams. Bck crystallized blood formed intricate patterns across the floor - a mad artist's masterpiece.

On the steel walls, written in blood and moving shadow, Ririi left their signature - a poem that seemed to writhe and shift when viewed directly:

"Come py with me in darkness deep

  Where screams become my song

These broken toys are mine to keep

  Where right dissolves to wrong

For I am neither game nor guide

  But pyful hunger's heart

Where wicked souls scream fun inside

  My pyground torn apart"

Hours ter, Detective Chen retched at the entrance. Twenty years on force hadn't prepared him for this. The medical examiner kept muttering about "impossible trauma patterns" while documenting bodies with spines twisted into impossible angles, eyes repced with writhing darkness.

The steel mill remains quarantined. Night guards report hearing children's ughter mixed with screams. In the shadows, Ririi's newest toys continue their eternal dance, their terror feeding the void that wears a wolf's smile.

Three guards have been committed to psychiatric care, all babbling about "the smiling shadow." In their padded cells, they continue to py games only they can see, their hair slowly turning white.

[Final note found scratched into steel beam]
