On his way home from school, Kazuki Hoshikawa was so absorbed in his phone that he didn’t even notice the red traffic light. When he finally looked up, a massive truck was right in front of him But in the next blink, everything changed.
He found himself standing in a world so vibrant, it looked like a painting brought to life. Flowers bloomed in impossible colors, the sky glowed in shades of gold and lavender, and the air felt strangely warm and calm.
“Huh…? This… this is definitely not Japan,” he whispered, his voice shaking.
Then his eyes lit up. “A fantasy world? Just like in all those games and anime?!”
Excited and confused, Kazuki began walking around, trying to make sense of where he’d landed. He quickly realized he could understand the language people spoke but the writing was completely foreign to him.
As hours passed, exhaustion and hopelessness crept in. He wandered through unfamiliar streets, tired and hungry, not knowing what to do next.
Sitting down on the edge of a fountain, he sighed And then, a soft but eerie voice whispered to him:
"Beware the war that devours all…"
Kazuki jumped up, startled He spun around, but no one was there.
“…Am I really that tired? Now I’m hearing things,” he said with a weak laugh Still, a strange unease crawled up his spine.
“I need to find someone and ask what’s going on,” he muttered.
He approached a poor-looking child and gently tapped the boy on the shoulder.
That’s when it hit him.
A flood of pain, emotions, and memories—but they weren’t his Agony surged through his body as if he were reliving another life.
“My parents… they’re dead?! Wh-What? A war between great nations?! MY LEG—!!”
He collapsed, screaming in pain, and then everything went black.

When Kazuki opened his eyes, a girl was sitting next to him. “You’re awake… what happened to you?” she asked gently.
He tried to answer, but his stomach turned violently. The memories, the pain—they were still haunting him. He bent over and vomited.
“Are you okay?” she asked, handing him a glass of water.
Kazuki took it with trembling hands. He wanted to explain what had just happened…But no words came out. His tongue refused to move. It was as if something was holding it back.
"No, sweet boy. That’s not the truth you need to speak…"
That voice again gentle, yet chilling.
He leapt to his feet, looking around frantically. Nothing.
“Is… something wrong?” the girl asked.
Trying to calm himself, he sat back down and asked, “What’s your name?”
“My name is Rina Estanis. What’s yours?”
When Kazuki heard that name, something deep inside his mind stirred. Among the flood of foreign memories, one stood out:
“Forgive my rudeness, Princess Rina! Please pardon my disrespect!” He dropped to his knees without thinking.
“H-Hey, get up! There’s no need to be so formal,” she said quickly. “Why don’t you just tell me what happened instead?”
Trying to change the topic, Kazuki looked up and said,“ Princess… please allow me to serve under you.”
Rina blinked, clearly surprised. “You want to… serve me?”
“Yes, is there something wrong with that?” Kazuki asked back, confused but sincere.
“…Well, first of all, what’s your name?” she asked cautiously.
“I’m Kazuki Hoshikawa.”
“That’s a strange name… Where are you from?” she inquired.
“I come from an island country in the far East,” he answered vaguely.
“Oh, so… Fraonia?” she tilted her head.
“No… It’s a land called Japan,” he replied.
“Japan? Never heard of it,” she said, frowning slightly.
“Eh… just forget it,” Kazuki replied with a half-smile. Now he was absolutely certain—this was another world.
But he didn’t back down. His eyes lit with determination. “I want to serve you, no matter what.”
Rina’s expression shifted. Her tone turned cold.
“…No. I’m sorry, but we just met. I don’t know who you are or what you want. Still… I’m glad you’re feeling better. Farewell.”
She stood up and left without another word.
Kazuki remained seated, stunned.
She doesn’t trust me. Of course she doesn’t…I’m a stranger in a strange world.
Hours passed. The sun was starting to set, casting long shadows over the stone streets of the unfamiliar city. Kazuki wandered without a goal, without a plan.
He felt small.
Alone.
And yet… deep down, something in his soul had awakened.
Something that wouldn’t let him give up.
