For the past few days, Tendou explored through the financial and commercial areas of Kivotos, and bought over necessities for the SCHALE building to make it less empty. Now the building's office floor (aside from Tendou's main office) is fitted with a cssroom and an auditorium for lectures (although the auditorium is also used for movie nights if Tendou gave the members permission), a shooting range to improve the recruited club members' aim with their firearms, several sports rooms, and a library. Upstairs in the residential area, more facilities such as an arcade, a garden, a mini-cafeteria ran by a bot that Tendou happened to meet and convince to work there after noticing his decent cooking skills, a gym for physical training for both Tendou and the students, and two balcony gardens. The Angel 24 minimarket is also located on the residential floor, overseen by the shy clerk Sora. As for where Tendou lived his daily life, he decorated the floor just below the roof as his residence, in the fashion of how his old home back in Tokyo looked like, complete with a bonsai garden, as well as several potted pnts that grow fresh ingredients for his cooking.
Now he is familiarizing himself with Momotalk, an a social media app used by everyone in Kivotos to communicate to one another, although Tendou had to spend half a minute to get around it. After understanding it, he and Arona sparked a conversation.
"I see. So even this city's social media app is beyond what my homeworld's app can do." Tendou said as he scrolled down his contacts list on his new phone.
"Righty-o, Sensei! This app can process through incoming messages in the speed of... umm... like... like your motorcycle!" Arona said, from within the Shittim Chest.
"Arona, did you tamper with the tech on the Kabuto Extender?"
"Ha? Oh, so that is what your motorcycle's named! That kinda expins the horn on the front between the headlights."
"You haven't answered my question."
"I kinda... added a new feature so that it is connected to the Shittim Chest. In other words, I can control it for you, so you don't have to walk all the way from one pce to where you parked it! Not only that... I also figured out what the Cast-Off system is for, and I modified it too. If you order me to, all the parts that sprung out of the bike will return to it like Thor's hammer!"
"Nice. You're a good operating system, Arona."
Tendou praised, patting Arona in the head causing her to purr in comfort before realizing one more thing.
"Also Sensei, it seems that you really dote on your students so much, but your interaction with adults... I find it rather interesting that you act all arrogant but not to a select few."
"What if I told you that I once worked as a vendor at a high school? The students there love me and my yakisoba. Grandmother said this: Children are treasures. As students, I see them all as equal."
"Umu..." Arona nodded.
"As for adults, they have to earn my respect if I want to trust them."
"That's... kind of harsh."
A new message then appeared, from Yuuka.
Yuuka: Hello Sensei. It's Yuuka.
Yuuka: Do you remember me?
Tendou: Of course I do.
Yuuka: I'm gd I got your contact info earlier. I sent you a message on MomoTalk because there's something important.
Yuuka: SCHALE still hasn't been reimbursed for the mission to recim the club building. When will be the invoice sent out?
Tendou: I see. But, I still don't have a tempte for an invoice if I have to send it to the GSC.
Yuuka: Well, you're in luck! We use a standardized form in Millenium.
Tendou: If you are free, come visit with one form.
Yuuka: Alright. Good day, Sensei.
Some time ter, the sounds of cooking can be heard from Tendou's kitchen in his residence upstairs, down from cutting down fresh gingers and mackerel fillets, to cooking said fillets and pouring down miso sauce onto them. Shortly after, a chirp is heard from the living room.
"Sensei-Darling, I'm home!"
"You're in time, Wakamo. Your dish is already on the table."
Wakamo tossed her mask into her bag and zipped it shut, before heading over to her room and changed into a bronze colored, floral patterned kimono. Afterwards she headed over to the dining table, prayed and after letting Tendou know with a "Thanks for the food!", She took a bite of the mackerel on the bowl.
"It's delicious as usual, Sensei~!"
"It is good to use a determinant amount or type of broth in order to suit everyone's tastes." Tendou proudly said.
Wakamo then looked at Tendou's phone near the edge of the table, and with a mischievous smile she took it and looked at the contacts, before her eyes darken at the sight of Yuuka's contact in the still-active MomoTalk app.
"Sensei, why is that insolent calcutor messaging you?"
"Business matters. I need to submit a form to the GSC, but I don't have a standardized tempte for it."
"It seems that she'll arrive in a few minutes. Is this why you are cooking more than two servings?"
"She travelled far from Millenium. It is good to serve a dish to a far travelling guest. Also, Wakamo. Remember, to not use your real name whenever we are in earshot of others."
"Hai~ Let me remember... Tamamo, was it not? I love the name you picked for me, Sensei~"
"Come on, you don't need a literal notebook to remember that, aren't you?" Tendou teased.
"No need, no need!"
The sound of the front door to the residence being knocked is heard, and Wakamo immediately stood up on alert.
"A little jumpy today?"
Tendou asked, as he poured the finished servings onto the dishes, and walked to the front door, opening it to reveal Yuuka has arrived.
"Sensei, good day... " Yuuka then sniffed the air.
"What's cooking?"
"Come on in, Yuuka. You'll see what I prepared."
Yuuka walked in, and looked around the interior of Tendou's residence. Everything is neatly pced, and well furnished in just a matter of days, and this of course shook Yuuka in realization.
"Sensei, how much did all of these cost? Not just these, but the changes to the building that I saw on the floors below as well, with the auditorium and everything."
"The receipt's on the coffee table. Also, Tamamo, come and meet our guest!"
"Tamamo?"
"Good day, umm..."
"It's Hayase Yuuka." Yuuka's brows rise at the sight of Wakamo, but she pretended not to recognize her.
"Pleasure to meet you, my name is Tamamo. I'm one of the first students to be included into SCHALE, although I live here with darl-- I mean, Sensei, as a housemate."
"Oh, really? What do you do in SCHALE?" Yuuka puts her hands on her hips, giving Wakamo a suspicious frown.
"I work as Sensei's assistant~ And I take care of the residence when he is out adventuring through Kivotos."
"I... I see... Anyways! I need to see his receipts from the st few days!"
Yuuka marches onto the living room, and looked at the coffee table, before her heart sank at the sight of the numbers written on the small slips of papers, which she spots with the perception of a hawk.
"S-Sensei... A-All of these... costs over 500 thousand!"
"And added with today's lunch, add 25 thousand more."
"That's not the point! D-did you even consider before buying all these furniture!? And these pnts... Are you a Hyakkiyako monk?!" Yuuka asked, looking at the bonsai trees.
"Hey! No touching~" Wakamo scolded as Yuuka's pointing finger nearly touched the fragile stem of one of the bonsai trees.
"S-Sorry..." Yuuka growled in annoyance at the fox's act. "Anyways, Sensei. Whose money is used to pay all these!? If this is from SCHALE's money, then it's embezzlement!"
"You worry too much. It's our savings. Her and mine respectively."
"O-Oh. S-sorry to jump into conclusions, Sensei, and... Tamamo."
"No offense taken."
"Anyways! From now on, I shall be your bookkeeper to monitor your expenses!"
Yuuka's dish is served onto the dining table as she prayed and let out her words to Tendou before she started to eat. After one bite, she immediately dug into the food faster, as she dreamily munched and swallowed the next bites afterwards.
"So good! Sensei, this is amazing! This is the first time I have eaten such delicious saba misoni!*"
(*Saba misoni: Mackerel Miso)
"It is simply amazing, right~?!" Wakamo asked.
"I'm not speaking to you, but... It is amazing, Sensei!" Yuuka said, switching her gnce from Wakamo to Tendou.
"To be honest, this simply doesn't do for me even until now. It's nothing compared to my little sister's."
The girls sitting around the dining table then froze in silence.
"Little sister? Sensei, you have a little sister?"
"This is the first time you told us." Wakamo snted her eyes.
"She is with another sister. They took care of each other well, even now."
"What's she like?" Yuuka asked.
"It's... a long story. Maybe one day I will tell you both."
After the three finished their lunch, Yuuka went back downstairs to do her work as SCHALE's bookkeeper for the day. Wakamo is about to leave in her usual Fox of Camity outfit, but stopped at the front door when she noticed a slip of an envelope sticking out of the mailbox. Wakamo then left after giving Tendou the envelope for him to open and examine the contents. Inside the envelope is a letter, it's content reads:
To the advisor of the Federal Investigation Club. Hello, my name is Okusora Ayane, and I’m a student at Abydos High School. I’m writing this letter because I want to ask for your help. Our academy is being harassed. One of the local gangs has been tormenting us.
It’s a long story, but we think this gang is after the school building itself. The students are doing their best to stop them, but it’s only a matter of time before we run out of ammunition and supplies. At this rate, the school will fall to them for sure.
That’s why I’m asking for your help. Can you please help us, Sensei?
