The deepest and most oppressive secret 10

The Deepest, Most Repressed Secret (10)

Before the other party could guess Lucy's psychological changes, she slightly exerted her strength and pulled her into the eaves. Unfortunately, one of Lucy's pant legs was still soaked in the rain.

"Umbrella, for you." Duan Chenliang's voice was like the gentle rain that drifted into the room, both icy and soft.

Lucy Yang stared at the umbrella handed over to her, still dripping with water droplets. The color of the umbrella was Lucy's favorite sky blue, very new. Lucy looked at the umbrella for a few seconds, still not taking it, she struggled free from the hand that was holding hers, and asked Duan Chenliang in a tone that even she felt was unfamiliar: "Do you think this is interesting?"

Lucy Yang bit her teeth, her stubborn and cold gaze met Duan Chenliang's deep eyes without evasion. She liked him, but why did he come and go as he pleased? When he was happy, he gave her hope, when he wasn't, he told her to stop, why did he treat her like this?

Duan Chenliang remained in the posture of handing the umbrella to Lucas, even though he knew his actions were self-contradictory. He silently took a deep breath, his voice slightly cold: "I'm just doing what I didn't get to do ten years ago. Consider us even."

Ten years ago? Ten years ago, Lucy Yang didn't know Duan Chenliang yet. She first saw him in the third grade, and ten years ago she was only in second grade and didn't know him at all.

Lucy Yang didn't ask any more questions, she knew that asking further would be meaningless, it would only increase her interest in the other person and make them even colder towards her. She glanced tiredly at the umbrella in Duan Chenliang's hand and said softly: "You never owed me anything to begin with. No need to repay."

Having said that, Lucas turned around and stepped into the rain curtain. The icy coldness suddenly invaded his neck and entered his body, making him shiver uncontrollably.

The path is chosen by oneself, even if kneeling, one must grit their teeth and walk it through.

That day, when Lucy Yang returned home, she was scolded by her mother and changed into a dry set of clothes. After sneezing several times in a row, her mother's scolding became even more severe. In order to alleviate her mother's reprimand, Lucy Yang tried hard to keep her mouth shut and suppressed the urge to sneeze. However, her mother's rebuke continued unabated, like a machine gun firing non-stop.

After a while, her mother stopped scolding her too. The house suddenly became unusually quiet, and an eerie atmosphere spread from every corner of the room. Lucy Yang looked at her mother who had suddenly become quiet, and felt a sudden sense of unease in her heart.

"Yang Yang, if Mom and Dad get divorced, will you be sad?" At that time, her mother was sitting on the sofa, and her legs, which had been raised all along, were put down at this moment. She stared at Lucy Yang, her eyes clearly panicked, and a vulnerability that Lucy Yang couldn't explain flowed out.

Lucy Yang knew her mother's temperament, just as she knew how severe her own curiosity was. She knew that no matter how she answered, her mother would still ask questions to the end, but she didn't want to explore this heavy yet directly ignorable topic.

So Lucas Yang never answered his mother's question from start to finish.

In the eyes of most people, Lucy Yang has always been a bit more indifferent than obedient, as if everything is none of her business. Her mother naturally doesn't know about the rebelliousness and stubbornness deep within Lucy's bones, so how could she have imagined that when Lucy heard this question from her, joy would surge up in her heart.

Seeing Lucas Yang not speaking, Mrs. Lu suddenly smiled sadly and gazed at Lucas Yang with deep meaning, but ultimately chose to end the topic.

By the evening, Lucas found that his father still hadn't come home. When he asked his mother about it, her face was filled with displeasure and she hastily said "If he wants to come back, he will" after which Lucas didn't dare ask again.

After the holiday ended, Lucy still didn't see her father appear, a strong ominous feeling bombarded her heart like cannonballs, but no matter what she did, she couldn't find out what was going on. When she asked her mother again, her mother started to get anxious and urged her to go back to school as soon as possible and hurried her out the door.

And so, Lucy Yang ended her completely unhappy New Year's holiday.
