  History

  Bianjing University, a prestigious institution strongly supported by the National Academy of Song Dynasty, recruits a large number of outstanding students from various provinces and cities in the Song Dynasty every year. It is strong in both liberal arts and science, commonly known as Bian Da. Bian Da is located at the intersection of Beidao Street and Zhongliu Road in the northwest suburbs of Bianliang City, adjacent to the famous engineering university, Song Dynasty University.

  The predecessor of Bian Da was a military academy established by Song Taizu Zhao Kuangyin to commemorate the success of Chenqiao mutiny, which gradually developed into a comprehensive university. In the second year of Jia You, it held its centennial celebration and gathered many famous scholars from Xiyu Dongying and Dasong, making it the first higher learning institution in the Song Dynasty to officially claim a hundred-year history.

  Campus

  Binan University has a fairly large campus, with the southern part being the teaching area and student dormitory area. The northern part surrounds Youming Lake, which is a beautiful scenery of lakes and mountains. At night, it's relatively quiet. In history, many poets and artists jumped into the lake, so Binan University students often gaze out at the lake, thinking that many elites were buried here, and thus sigh with emotion.

  There are three main school gates, the south gate is the main entrance and exit, the duty guard Peng Yingyu often stays overnight in the south gate duty room. The west gate is carved with intricate designs, mainly used for receiving guests and allowing horses and carriages to enter and exit. The small east gate leads to the physics and chemistry departments outside the school, and the nearby alleys have all kinds of breakfast snacks, which are Yang Kang's and Linghu Chong's favorites.

  Bin Da has four canteens, namely Xueyi, Xuesan, Xuesi and Xuwu. Among them, Xuesan is a fast food canteen. In addition, there is also an on-campus restaurant called Jinhua Garden. Yang Kang loves the chicken legs in Xuwu very much, which is also the unit he uses to make bets with others. There are four teaching buildings, namely Teaching Building 1, Teaching Building 2, Teaching Building 3 and Teaching Building 4. Among them, Teaching Building 1 is relatively elegant, while Teaching Buildings 3 and 4 have better facilities. However, Teaching Building 2 is gloomy and dilapidated, and there are many mysterious campus legends about it. Outside Teaching Building 3 is a large basketball court and track field, where Qiao Feng used to like playing basketball at midnight.

  There are several old student buildings in the student dormitory area, with many ginkgo trees planted outside. In spring and summer, the windows are often shaded by green leaves, while in autumn, the yellow fallen leaves swirl down like countless silk fans. When Yang Kang was young, he lived near Bian Daxue and loved to go to the campus to play badminton in the fall.

  The grand library was built with the support of the Song government and the generous funding of Han Baoju, a wealthy businessman in the horse racing industry. It has both Western and traditional Chinese styles, but its designer's taste is often ridiculed by Linghu Chong. The library facilities are excellent, and Huang Rong only likes to study in the library, so poor Guo Jing had to go early to reserve a seat.

  Characteristics

  There are about 50,000 students in Bin Da, with boys accounting for 70%. As a result, the campus romance is in an unbalanced state, with many more single men than single women. Therefore, it's common to see groups of single male students going out together to kill time, especially in their final year. Outside the south gate of the school, there's a small alley lined with cheap restaurants from start to finish. At night, when it's quiet and dark, you can often see groups of single male students sneaking into this area.

  Many students in the school are involved in various student organizations, such as Guo Jing is with the Red Cross Society, Yang Kang is with the International Chess Association, Duan Yu is an active member of the Buddhist and Rock Poetry Association, while Lin Hu Chong joined the Guitar Association... although he can't play the guitar at all.

  Because of the excellence in liberal arts, many students are either high-flying or have elegant writing styles. The former is exemplified by Linghu Chong, while the latter is epitomized by Yang Kang. Liu Sanbian, a famous poet in history, graduated from the East Asian Literature Department of Bian Da University and spent his life writing poetry, dying in poverty, and was known as the most classic example of being sentimental and ill-fated at Bian Da University.

  The boys at the school are often dressed casually, especially in summer when they mainly wear traditional round-necked short-sleeved shirts. The girls' clothing is more varied, ranging from simple and elegant like Mu Nianci to trendy like Huang Rong, and exquisite like Wang Yuyan's style is also not uncommon.

  Official

  Department heads are usually professors with a certain academic reputation in their field. The president is typically a well-known scholar of the Song Dynasty, and is usually only responsible for some exchange activities, while most school management is divided among several vice presidents.

  After the school anniversary celebration in the second year of Jiayou, the famous gynecologist Dongfang Bubai replaced the original historical figure Dugu Qiubai as the principal.
