I sat in one of the old shops that littered the surrounding areas the fairy sat on my leg eating a piece of an apple I roasted for her, it has been three days since I left the hive and bought this fairy but nothing has changed. I have played it safe and kept to the shadow’s when it comes to the monsters around here, most are huge monsters but there are a few smaller monsters that are on par with the insect leaders which is a problem because they hunt in pacts. Right now I was resting after escaping one of these packs, after preparing some food for the both of us I brought up my stats
My stat’s hasn’t increased a lot in the amount of time I have spent killing things but I’m pretty sure I can get more levels if I start killing the monsters around here I just need to be smart about this. I’ve completely given up on fire arms unless I can shove the barrel in a monsters mouth and fire, a heavy caliber might harm them but that’s too loud and it will probably get me killed. I got up from my make-shift camp then checked my map, there were a few monsters around me but there are some that are along.
I walked through the deserted street, the ruins of the fallen city surrounding me followed by the echoes of the new inhabitance. I approached one of the lone monsters that was hiding in a back alley, it was reptilian and had white scales all over it’s bodies but you could also see a few scars here and there layering it’s body.
Well if I can play my cards right I can probably take it down before it call’s others, if I remember right Shadowclaws hate bright lights and curious creatures. If they find something new even if their instincts are screaming at them to run away they will still try to investigate it which makes it easier for me. I lit the fuse on a homemade nail bomb then threw it beside the Shadowclaw, the creature turned to show off its crimson eyes and serrated teeth. I took cover behind a dumpster and followed by an explosion and shrapnel flying everywhere.
The explosion called it’s brethren but they had no idea what caused the death of their kin but I didn’t let the opportunity pass. I threw a flash bang followed by another nail bomb. Cries of pain filled the air followed by another explosion this one didn’t work as well seeing how two Shadowclaws were still breathing just critically injured. I walked out of my hiding spot and ended their suffering with my spider glaive which I made from the spider queen, before any interruptions appeared I sent the corpses into my inventory.
As I was heading to a safe place to check my notifications but when I was about to enter the building it was smashed by a giant reptilian that glared at me with murderous intent. The reptile looked like a giant version of the Shadowclaws but it was on all fours and calling it over grown was an understatement. People say you shouldn’t flush your pets; well this is the result of ignoring people.

I turned and started to move only to be deafened by its roar which caused me to run for my life, buildings crashed and the ground shook as the creature rushed after me. Rubble crashed down smashing into my right arm, the creature started to gain ground on me as I struggled to keep moving while ignoring the crushing pain in my right arm. The creature came down for the final blow but I slid into the subway entrance just in time to avoid its mouth, I rolled down the stairs as the ceiling rumbled from the creature crashing to the gravel and cement.
I landed at the bottom only to be enveloped in darkness, the only light that I had was the fairy that was flying beside me. She stared at me with worry but I only smile at her thinking about how lucky I was to find this subway entrance, I crawled over to the wall using it to get to my feet. Well I know what I should increase now; I opened my window and poured all of my points into my vitality.
“Yes”
When I said yes an information sheet appeared which asked me the details of my guild and what it was called. I stayed there filling out the sheet while I recovered my strength. The creature above me is still making a racket but can’t get in so I’m safe for now, the problem I have now is what creatures lurk in the dark?
Shadow claws are pretty much a guaranty but still there might be much worse down here, the only plus side is that Mama can’t get down here well not at the moment anyways. As I concentrated on the task before me the fairy flew over to my ruined arm, as I was about to ask what she was doing a small light appeared from her hands.
“Healing Light!” (Fairy)
My wound slowly closed but the pain was still there, I guess healing magic won’t make up for the pain of the wound and loss of blood but it will save a person’s life. This is still level one too so if we can increase the level we might be able to regrow lost limbs, the only problem will be the mana consumption I’m sure she can’t do this for long. Well on another note the guild registration is done.
Now that is done let’s get out of this subway and back to the surface, if I stay here too long creatures will be the least of my worries. I jumped down onto the tracks and continued forward into the darkness ahead leaving Mama’s pained roars in the distance.
