Chapter 29 Let Go

  Chapter 29 Hands Released

Soft sunlight cast on his handsome face, leaving mottled marks. She looked at him and suddenly felt that the one who stood in the sunlight with a bright smile was actually the loneliest person.

  "Senior..."

"Are you painting?" He walked down slowly and asked her with a smile.

"I..." She clutched the sketchbook tightly to her chest, looking at him nervously. It was a drawing of him, after all - she couldn't let him see it, or she'd really have to dig a hole and hide in it!

"Can you paint?" This reminded him of the first time he met her, his brush broke and she had given him a brush. It turned out that she not only danced well but also painted.

"Uh... a little." As she watched the person walking slowly towards her, her whole body tensed up.

"May I see?" He slowly extended his hand, asking for the sketchpad she had hidden behind her back.

"Should I... really show it to him?!"

"A secret?" He looked at her tense appearance and asked interestingly. If she didn't want to, he wouldn't force it either.

"Mmm..." She looked at him very seriously and nodded.

"Alright then, I won't force you."

"Senpai, I remember you can paint too, right?" The first time she saw him, she had seen him holding a sketchbook and hiding behind a tree.

"Uh, well... I haven't painted in a long time." He hadn't completed a single painting since she left.

Some shattered and incomplete things, left in heart, will only hurt the fragile heart.

"Why?" Looking at the fleeting sadness in his eyes, she blinked her slightly sour eyes.

"The glass bottle broke. If you don't throw it away, the shards will cut your hand." He leaned down and sat beside her, quietly looking at her.

"I understand." How could she not understand the pain in his heart? But as time went by, people would grow up, and those who escaped from their past would always be weak. She didn't want him to live with wounds forever, after all, the vibrant youth only lasted for a few short years.

"Mm." He believed she would understand, she was a girl who always wore a happy smile no matter what time it was. He hoped that this simple girl wouldn't have the same kind of pain as him for her entire life.

"Senior, let's play a game!" He squinted and smiled, dazzling her. She stood up from the stone steps, smiling at him.

"Alright, what game." He looked up to see her standing behind him, her long shadow blocking the bright sunlight from the corner of his eyes. In the dimness, he saw her happy smile, which shocked him.

It seems that no matter when, she always smiles happily. Even when crying, she still brings joy to everyone. She is really a very special person.

"Senior, would you mind closing your eyes?" She stood behind him with a mysterious expression.

"How mysterious!" Turning his head, he shook it helplessly, with doting eyes that even he himself didn't notice. Being with her, he always felt at ease and had a sense of happiness.

  "Hurry up!"

"Alright!" Closing his eyes, he waited for what she called a "game".

"Okay, you can open your eyes now."

"Hmm..." As soon as he opened his eyes, he saw a pair of hands about to cover his eyes, but they stopped at the bridge of his nose and didn't touch him.

He looked back in confusion, and she slightly bent down, he could clearly see her sparkling eyes, where he seemed to see the hope after loneliness and fatigue.

"Is this... her game?" He didn't understand what she meant to express.

"Senior, what did you see?" She let go of his hand and sat down on the first step behind him, hugging her knees and looking at him with a serious face.

"Your hand is blocking the sunlight."

  "What's next after letting go?"

"I see everything in front of me, including you." He smiled at her, and he began to understand what she meant.

"Some things are too close, easily affecting the view you see. Just like a hand placed in front of your eyes, blocking out the sunlight and leaving only darkness. Take away the hand, and the world you can see will be wider and farther." She lifted her head, gazing at the sunlight on the treetops, although it was a bit dazzling, but she felt warm and happy.

"What you said is right, sometimes letting go can lead to having more. He looked up and saw the warm sunshine that belonged to him at a 45-degree angle, and with a smile on his lips, he suddenly realized that what had brought harm to himself was not something else, but his own stubbornness..."
