Chapter 31: Beginning to Understand

  Chapter Thirty-One: Finally Understood

"Aren't you always busy? It's as hard to get you out as it is to invite a Bodhisattva, and it's such a hassle!" He thought about how every time he tried to ask her and Weiwei out for tea, she would make excuses saying she was busy and stood them up, leaving him and Weiwei feeling awkward.

"I'm very busy, but I also need to relax a bit, right?" She glared at him with annoyance. Since the four of them drifted apart three years ago due to misunderstandings, it seemed like they hadn't sat down and had a good talk in a long time.

"It's... what the Secretary-General said!" He looked impatient.

"Alright, you guys chat! I still have something to attend to, so I'll leave first." She stood up and was about to leave when she suddenly remembered something and stopped.

"Oh, Yu, come here for a moment, I have something to say to you." She stood up and glanced at Zhang Yuqian, signaling her to follow her out.

"Rainy morning, let's chat again when we have time! The weather has turned cooler recently, take care of yourself!" She reminded her before leaving.

"Uh-huh, I know. You too!" She smiled faintly at her, the warmth in her heart spreading over the cold traces.

A few steps away from the pavilion where Lin Yu Chen was sitting, Xu Xiao Xiao looked at Lu Wangzi's face, which had been beaten to a slight red and swollen state, and couldn't help but burst out laughing.

"Out with it! What is it?" He glared at her, who was secretly smiling.

"Hey! Apologize properly to others, don't always have that carefree and nonchalant attitude."

"Mind your own business..." He turned his face away with a look of impatience, he came to apologize today, did he still need her to say anything!

"Suit yourself! I'm leaving." She didn't care about saving face or suffering for nothing, so she just ignored him.

As he watched her recede into the distance, he suddenly felt that those deeply etched beautiful moments in his memory had gone never to return, and when they finally understood, they were no longer young.

"Ah-choo...!" The person in the pavilion finally couldn't help but let out a sneeze, rubbed their nose, and suddenly realized they had caught a chill.

"Serves you right! You're the kind of guy who wants to show off but not actually do anything. The weather's turned cool and you're still wearing such thin clothes, what, trying to tempt people into committing a crime?" A cold, cutting remark came from behind her, making her feel very uncomfortable.

"What business is it of yours if I want to entice someone into crime?" She gave him a cold glance, full of disdain.

"Are you still angry?" Even a fool could tell she was still fuming.

She didn't look at him again, tidied up the books on the stone table and turned around to leave.

He quickly ran in front of her and stopped her, lowering his head to think about how to apologize to her. His grandfather had never apologized to anyone before!

Looking at the person standing in front of her, lowering her head and wanting to say something but hesitating, she rolled her eyes at him. That guy, wanting to apologize but not having the courage, what a fool!

  "Anything else?"

"Come on... Ah! Follow me!" He said and pulled her in another direction. Did he not have the psychological preparation to apologize?!

"Hey! What are you doing?! Where are you taking me?! The tall guy is so annoying, she has to jog to keep up with his pace, and if she slows down any further, she'll probably trip and fall!"

"You'll know when you get there!" He didn't turn back, continuing to pull her towards where his sports car was parked. Unable to escape from his big paws, she could only be pulled along stupidly by him.

"Let go! Let go!!" What's wrong with this old man?! Why is he acting so strangely today?!

"Get in!" He said as he arrived at his black sports car, and gallantly opened the door for her before releasing the hand he was holding.

"No!" She argued with him! This guy always ordered others around, and she hated being ordered the most.

He smiled charmingly, slightly leaning down and whispering in her ear: "Don't challenge my patience!" He threatened her, having learned a lesson from last time, he didn't believe she wouldn't obey.
