Chapter 36: Playing Hooky

  Chapter Thirty-Six: Skipping Class

"Hmm! How about it, are you going or not?" She looked at her seriously, expecting an answer.

"You're not feverish, are you?" She made a gesture of reaching out to touch her forehead.

Xia Weiya scrunched up her face and raised her hand to pull down the hand on her forehead: "I'm fine!" Muttering, she leaned her head against Lin Yuchen's right cheek: "Go?!!"

"If you don't pass the exam, you'll be fired!" she kindly reminded her.

"We're doing so well, what's there to be afraid of!" She had a proud expression on her face, Lin Yuchen could only smile helplessly as he watched. Her elder sister's grades were indeed good, but she was different.

"Come on!" she continued to urge her hesitant friend.

"Alright! Alright! I'll agree with you!" She reluctantly got up and walked towards the dressing room.

Today's weather is clear and cool, with the gentle sun at its farthest point in its orbit, giving the Earth more than half less light than the scorching heat of autumn.

The azure sky is adorned with white clouds drifting about, and the pure light is a bit dazzling under the reflection of sunlight.

Xia Weiya drove a sports car with Lin Yuchen and escaped from Jin Yi Li.

  "Vivian, where are we going?"

"Where do you want to go?" The driver turned his head and looked at her.

"Didn't you say you wanted to skip class? Why are you still asking me where I'm going?" She looked at her helplessly.

  "Then I'll take you somewhere."

"Okay." She glanced out the window and suddenly thought of something, turning her head: "Vivian, are you feeling down?" If not, why would she suddenly think of skipping class?

"There's nothing, I just want to go out and get some fresh air." She thought about how to tell her that she was actually in a bad mood. But when she saw her beautiful smile, she couldn't say anything at all.

"You're cheating!" She didn't believe it at all!

"When did you become a tapeworm in my heart?" She laughed and teased her, but hearing her say that, she actually felt a thread of happiness in her heart.

After all, she cares about her, and she can feel it.

"Don't change the subject." She was a bit angry, didn't she consider her as a friend? If there's something unhappy in her heart, shouldn't it be shared with friends together?

"I didn't change the subject, nor was I unhappy, I just remembered some things."

  "Don't think about unhappy things!"

"Alright, don't make it so that even you're unhappy." She seemed to have never seen her being unhappy before, hoping she could always be like this.

  God bless good children.

  She has always believed so.

Lin Yu Chen gazed out the window, where the distant blue sky stretched across the mountain tops. Half an hour's drive had passed and they had already arrived in the suburbs, where the continuous mountain ranges remained lush and green in early autumn.

Open the car window, and the cold wind hits your face, stinging. Very clean air, without the hustle and bustle of the city.

The hustle and bustle in the concrete forest always makes people nervous, their tired bodies bearing too much helplessness and powerlessness.

The car drove halfway up the mountain and then continued to drive towards the foot of another mountain. Before reaching the foot of the mountain, Lin Yuchen saw a purple field in the window, stretching from the foot of the mountain all the way to another mountain.

She gazed intently for a while before she was certain it was a field of lavender.

As soon as she got off the car, Lin Yuchen ran towards the lavender field, cheering happily. She had never seen such a large piece of lavender field before, with row after row of long ridges neatly arranged, and the purple lavender on the ridges was blooming charmingly.

The air was filled with the faint scent of flowers, and the people drowning in the sea of flowers did not notice that behind her, there was someone happily smiling as he watched her running figure.

Xia Weiya saw her childhood self again in her bright smile. At that time, the four of them had the most innocent and joyful times of laughter and quarrels.

Time flies like sand in an hourglass.

No regrets for being caught off guard, only helplessness when looking back on past events.
