“RUN! RUN!” a cyclops yells.
The mountain above them crumbles down, causing an avalanche. A group of cyclops start to cast stone wall arts as high as they can to stop the avalanche from hitting their settlement. Other cyclops start creating a stone dome of sorts around the mountain valley settlement. Others start to create support beams for the dome.
“We’ve stopped all we could. Retreat back to the dome!” A cyclops yells out.
They retreat back to the newly formed dome as the rest of the snow and debris come rushing down. The walls help reduce the momentum of the snow. By the time it reaches the bottom, it is of little danger to the cyclops in the dome.
Poosh!
The snow covers the top of the dome.
“Is everyone ok?”
“Yes, the twin gods have granted us safety.”
“What caused the mountain to crumble like that?”
After a moment, a cyclops that was working more near the base of the mountain speaks up “well I don’t know if anyone else saw it, but I saw a bright red light almost like a lighting strike hit the top of the mountain.”
“I saw that too, but the snowstorm couldn’t have reached that high, could it?”
“Questions aside, we are all safe, and that’s what really matters.”
BOOOM!
The mountains start to rumble again.
“Have we upset the twin god?”
“Could it really be time for judgement!” A cyclops panic.
She drops to her knees and starts to pray. “Oh, twin gods have mercy upon me. Give me more time to spread your word and right my wrongs. Oh, please twin gods, grant me this!” the cyclops prays.
Meanwhile, the battle between Loka and Havoc reaches Paradise.
“There it is again. No storm could cause such a commotion.” An elf general states.
The elf king looks out into the far distance “…Loka” The elf kings smile a wicked smile.
“My king are you not-”
The elf king waves his hand and the elf’s head is cut off. “Who gave you permission to address me? We shall not interfere with the battles of savages.” The elf king says.
“sh-” The elf stops himself as he receives a death stare from the king.
He quickly walks away and runs to the inner council. “It appears Loka is in a battle causing mass destruction on the northwest side,” the elf informs them.
Sigh “Send out a scout troop and make it discrete. It’s in our best interest not to upset the king any further. It’s not like Loka would be dumb enough to attack us head on again.” The council member says.
The elf king expands his source range, looking further and further past Loka’s presences, trying to discover another, but it’s to no avail. It seems Rev is too drained to put out much noticeable power from so far away. Loka can feel the elf king’s eyes on him.
“I guess it’s time to get out of here.” Loka says.
He puts his shirt back on and sheathe his blade. The Elf king picks up his fork and looks into the distance. He then sends it flying, causing a massive shock wave that shakes the very building he’s on. The fork begins to melt at the tip as it travels faster and faster all the way to Loka’s head. Loka quickly dodges, letting the fork crash into the snow. He glares into the distance and hundreds of miles aways The elf king and Loka lock eyes.
Loka scuffs “I don’t have time for this,” He says.
-1 week later.
Havoc’s body had been found by the elf scouts sent out. Dragons who are already on the scene break out into a battle with the elves that quickly ends with the elves being slaughtered. This is not without consequence, as they’re still in range of the elf king. Only two of the 3 dragons make it back in one piece. With both of them severely injured.
“My queen…Havoc has been defeated.” He says as he pants for air.
“Yes, my queen, and we were almost killed by the elf king. We were looking at the body and then a group of elves approached us, so we killed them all. Then out of nowhere, giant rocks were flung at us. We didn’t see him….but we could sense him. It was overwhelming…And he was smiling…I just know he was. I could feel it…Ahh!” The dragon slams the ground with his tail in frustration.
“I’m sorry we failed you!” The other dragon tells the queen.
Rev has made his way to the valley in the mountains slowly but surely. Rev still finds himself in a blizzard, but one much weaker than the last. Rev spots an acumination of source under the snow.
“What’s under me?” Rev asks.
The long week of travel with the combination of lack of food Rev’s vision begins to cave in and he soon after collapses. Rev is found by the cyclops and taken into their dome. That night Rev wakes up in a cold sweat as he gasps for air. “Rev…” he hears echo through his head.
Stolen novel; please report.
“What’s…going on?” Rev asks.
His vision is still slightly blurry and his head spinning. He looks at the hallway and a cold wind creeps in as he sees a shadowy figure.
“oh young-”
Rev dashes forward as he draws his dagger, but it seems to be missing. The cyclops stumbles backwards, dropping the tray of food on the ground. Rev’s crimson eyes glow bright and furious.
“AHHH!” the cyclops yells.
Other cyclops quickly come over. “What’s wrong, judy?” they ask.
Rev now seeing them in the light more clearly. His jumbled mind tries to fill in the gaps in his vision.
“E..in?” Rev mumbles before he collapse again.
Rev is picked up. “His eyes were bright red!” Judy said.
“We can’t judge others on such simple things judy.”
“your right Mark.” Judy says.
Mark brings rev back to his bed and picks up the tray of food and sets it by the bed.
“If he wakes up again, please tell me.” Mark says.
“Ok” Judy responds.
Rev lays in the bed, his mind spinning as he begins to dream. He dreams of his time with Ein and how peaceful things felt for those 6 months. There talks that would last for hours. The last words Ein ever said to him. His journey to the palace without him. The time he spent there and the people he met. How they treated him so kindly. The look that Lilly would give Rev, not even the smallest amount of fear in her eyes. If he was just stronger back then, he could have saved Ein.
“…that…fool” Rev whispered.
He woke up again many hours later. He was in a dark room, the source inside the food made it easy to see. Rev quickly pounced on it, not leaving even a crumb. Rev then heard heavy footsteps approaching. He reached for his dagger, but like before, it was not there. Rev scuffs and prepares himself for combat. The door opens and Mark walks in.
“Wow, your eyes are really red. Glad to see you're awake and that you’ve eaten,” Mark says.
Rev squints his eyes. “Ei-”
“Oh, sorry my name is Mark, I should of lead with that.” he tells Rev.
“Mark?” Rev responds.
“Yes, we found you collapsed in the snow above our shelters and we took you in. Is it ok if I ask you a couple question?” Mark asks.
“Where’s my dagger and my bag?” Rev asks.
“Oh, sorry about that…we didn’t know if you’d be very friendly when you woke up. I will retrieve them as soon as you answer my questions.” Mark tells Rev.
Rev glares at Mark, seeing how much source he has in him. His vision is still kinda blurry so his mind once again tries fills in the gaps.
Rev sighs “Fine…”
“Great! this shouldn’t take long at all. Did you see any bright red light in the sky about a week ago? And if so, do you know what caused it?” Mark asks.
Rev stairs plainly at Mark, his voice dry and tired. “Yes, I was in the middle of fighting a dragon and I was interrupted by someone. They started fight and their attacks were probably what you saw,” Rev tells Mark.
Mark's eye widens “…A DRAGON! is it”
“Don’t worry, it’s dead. That bastard killed him…” Rev says.
“No wonder you were in such rough shape when we found you. You must be pretty strong to have survived.” Mark says.
Rev glares at Mark again and scuffs. “Can I get my stuff back now?” Rev asks.
“Of course, please follow me,” Mark says.
Rev gets up from the bed and his body falls into shock and his vision begins to cave in. Mark quickly comes over to help Rev up.
“Are you ok? Am sorry. You stay here and I’ll be right back with your stuff,” Mark says.
Mark lays Rev down on the bed and runs off.
“What’s wrong with me?” Rev asks himself.
He brings his hand up to his face and sees multiple of them as if he was dizzy. “What going on” Rev says with a sigh.
A few moments later, Judy walks in with more food. Rev looks over “Mark?”
“Oh no, my name is Judy. We met last night…” Judy tells Rev.
“Met last night?” Rev says.
“It’s fine don’t worry about it. Here I brought you some food, please eat up.” Judy says.
Rev quickly scarf down the food. “Thanks.” Rev says.
Judy is a little taken aback, but at least he’s not trying to kill her. “Your very welcome.” Judy responds.
Mark walks in soon after with Rev’s bag in hand. “Here it is. This is all that we found with you.” Mark says.
Rev takes the bag and looks through it. “Where’s my dagger?” Rev asks, glaring up at Mark.
“Well, about that…could I please know your intention with the dagger?” Mark asks, looking a little nervous.
“I plan on killing a monster with it.” Rev tells Mark.
Rev looks over at Mark and his vision becomes twisted. “You shouldn’t kill Rev…” a familiar voice says.
“EIN! noo…stop get out!” Rev grabs his head. It feels like it’s gonna explode any second.
“Ein?” Mark repeats.
Judy quickly gets out of the room. “You heard him he said get out!” Judy tells Mark.
“No, wait…” Mark says walking over to Rev “What do you know about Ein?” Mark asks.
Mark lays his hand on his shoulder and Rev falls still looking into Mark’s eye. So kind and reassuring, but it’s not the same. He…he isn’t him.
“He’s…dead” Rev says.
Tears begin to run down Rev’s eyes. “And he’s never coming back.” Rev says.
“It’s ok kid, let it out.” Mark says.
He leans in to hug Rev, covering him in warmth. Rev’s body might be warm, but there is a void in his heart that can’t be reached.
“No…your not him...You're NOT HIM! GET OFF ME!” Rev cries out.
Rev’s breathing accelerates his vision goes black and before he knows it he is woken up by a scream.
“AHHHHHH!”
Rev opens his eyes to see he’s in a pool of blood and not one of his own. “What…happened?” Rev asks.
The cyclops stares at Rev in horror. Rev meets their gaze, one he knows all too well. They run as fast as they can. Rev then looks down and all around him. He looks at his hands and he feels…empty. 3 more cyclops walk in to see Rev sitting in a pool of blood and Judy and Mark scattered across the walls of the now red room. Rev gets up slowly and looks at them with a saddened empty expression.
“Where’s my dagger? If you give it to me, I promise to leave.” Rev tells them.
The cyclops look at Rev and then the room and back at him. “Follow us”
Rev follows after them as blood drips off his body. Others look at him in horror as he is escorted by the cyclops. “Is this really who I am?” Rev asks himself.
NO
The words echo through Rev’s head. His vision blurs again, but he pulls himself back together. The cyclops look at each other and Rev glares up at them. They quickly fall back into order and bring him to his dagger.
“We believe it’s in here, but-”
Rev extends his hand and pulls his dagger to him. “How do I get out of this place?” Rev asks.
The cyclops are stunned for a moment, then quickly answer, “Oh, just follow us.” They respond.
Rev follows them out of the building and is met by the site of a massive stone dome. “Rev, listen to me…please stop this-” Ein’s voice rings in Rev’s ear.
“Stop! You're dead! Stop talking to me! You're not real! You're not him!” Rev yells.
The cyclops look over at him, confused and worried. “Are…you ok?” one of them says.
Rev glares up at him and grabs him with his source pulling him down to him. “AM FINE!” Rev says.
The other cyclops quickly points their hand to Rev’s head. He sees they have a art ready to cast. He looks around at the crowd that is forming. “Rev please! You promised me that you’d protect the weak, not kill them!” Rev falls to his knees, letting go of the cyclops. His eyes are wide and dilated.
“I…didn’t mean too…I don’t even remember it!” Rev says. “How is this my fault!? IF you didn’t help them! If you didn’t try to save all those people, then you would still be alive. Those people’s lives were not worth yours! MY LIFE WAS NOT WORTH YOURS!” Rev cries out.
