Chapter 22: Where is safe

  --

I went on a date ... with myself, I heard people take breaks and people show up early at the cafe shop ... perfect combo. I usually sit near the corner of the shop but since it's a new day and a new me I decided that to be a leader you must understand the people first. A good excuse can take you years ahead in life, this was a shortcut, but so was poker night and that went smoothly and fun. I ordered my typical cup and saw a new face as I went to sit under the shade like the rest. It was almost summer and I was experiencing the luxury of poorness. I saw a man walk by, no granny like last time, he was even a different color to me. Looked like he knew something about evolution humans never achieved yet, so I accompanied him to the cashier and as he was ordering wondered where I'd seen his kind before. We bumped heads, I sat my merry way and decided maybe I should get out a little. The reason the cafe is a hotspot for me is because it's far away enough for me to not be recognized for my past, an accepting place.

"Why you black", I said calmly.

"Why you racially profilling man, what you hate me or somthin", He said a bit angered.

"No no you look strong, did you evolve better than these ingrates, like any unique powers", I said calmly again proud of my ability to communicate.

"You sayin I'm a theif that's my power huuh", said the guy a bit angered.

Stolen content warning: this tale belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences elsewhere.

"Explain the math in those words, I never insinuated any of that, I said YOU LOOK STRONG LIKE A GOOD ACCOMPLICE", I said calmer than ever.

"So you callin me a slave now, to your bidding huh punk", he said as he got angrier.

"Hmm aam I, no, but we can work together", I said patting his bald head.

"You gay or somethin, I like men but not like that", he said shoving me away.

"WORDS, I SPEAK MERE WORDS, DO I LOOK LIKE A VILLAIN FROM A NOVEL OR A TEEN DRAMA", I said fed up.

"Words, people say words ... what you callin me a monkey dumb enough not to get those words", he said getting ready to try and beat me up.

"NO NO NO, I CAN*T SPEAK", I said jumping up and down like a toddler I must say but for a good cause.

"What you pretending to be me saying I CAN*T SPEAK makin me look like a damn immigrant, huuh you wanna fight come on", he said putting down the cup.

I gave up. I was about to ask him about working together on how to control people when it comes to slavery of the poor but he made me feel dumber than a fruit. He is a gag is what I found out, but as I saw him more and more he had more unique ways of saying ARE YOU ASKING FOR A FIGHT like as if he were a member of the royal family calling his dad PAPA and his mom MUMMY.

As I got my steps in I suddenly remembered Neova could exist and still be out there. If I do what I do now I will end up starting from a new zero more lower than anything this was. He became my first friend, he taught me about racism and stereotypes on gender. I never cared to listen but the days went better off with him than without him. I saw him, but I also had a small fear that he was out there. My past dictated my future, but I told him one day when It would all be ok I would see him again. Fin.
