Chapter 14: The Ancient Yue Pavilion

  Ancient Yue Pavilion

Two days later, Viya and I received a message from the news agency that due to too many people wanting to join, they would be screening us. The topic this time was to interview a special person and write a meaningful news article! The premise is that it must be special and meaningful. And we have to submit our work by next Monday. With such a tight deadline, where can we go to interview a special person and write a meaningful news article? Viya and I were racking our brains over this.

"Vera, what's the plan? Who are we going to interview so that the news will make sense to those newspaper editors?" Vera and I have been sitting in the "Zero Point" coffee shop for a good half day now, but still haven't figured out anything.

"Don't ask me again, if I knew, I wouldn't be sitting here with you drinking three or four cups of milk tea!" Vielle said, propping her cheek on her hand, speaking in a weak and annoyed tone.

"Let's ask Yīng Bīng for help! She's so clever, she'll definitely think of a way!"

"She's got nothing better to do than help us out! She's got a ton of schoolwork and then she has to go to her part-time job after class! Unlike the two of us who have nothing to do all day. Now that something's come up, I don't know how we're going to deal with it, sigh!" Vicky said as she stirred her drink with a straw.

"Alas!" I sighed along with her.

I don't know how long I've been sighing. Wei'er looked at her watch.

He suddenly said, "Ah... it's getting late, I have to go, something very important!" Scared me.

"But what about our interview and press release?"

"Think about it tomorrow, isn't there still a weekend? The boat will naturally go straight when it reaches the bridge! Don't worry!" Vielle said with a pat on my shoulder after giving me a big hug.

"You're really optimistic! If I can't get into the news agency, you'll be the first one I'll kill!" I glared at Viel fiercely.

"It's okay!" Wei'er said, looking at her watch again; "I really have to go, can't let the handsome guy wait too long! Bye bye!" After finishing speaking, she quickly slipped out of 'Zero Point'.

Ugh! Another handsome guy, this fellow who values looks over friendship. I'm so angry, I bit the straw and sucked a big mouthful of milk tea!

"Hi! Long-haired girl, you're here again! Looks like we have a good fate!"

I looked up at the boy standing in front of me, with golden hair, coffee-colored eyes, long eyelashes, and very white skin, which was even better than mine. The corners of his mouth were slightly raised, and he smiled so charmingly. He's really handsome!

"Do I know you?" I asked in confusion? I don't remember knowing such a handsome guy!

"Ah! How sad, your memory is really bad! We just met two days ago, right here!" He said as he sat down across from me. The waiter quickly brought over a cup of coffee, he must be a regular, otherwise the waiter wouldn't have directly brought it over without him ordering anything.

"Huh? Here, two days ago?" I see him searching his memory for this person, and suddenly I notice his blond hair. "Right, you're that 'blondie' who bumped into me twice!"

No wonder I couldn't recognize him, he was wearing big sunglasses the last two times, covering half of his face. And today, he's actually wearing our school uniform, looking more like a bookworm than before.

"Few people have seen me as such a reflection, I am called Gu Yue Xuan, not 'Huang Mao', you can also call me 'Xuan'." He said with a sip of coffee.

Gǔ Yuè Xuān, this name sounds so familiar, where have I heard it before?

"Are you from Jialin High School?" I asked in confusion.

"Really, is there a problem?" He put down his coffee and looked at me with his hands clasped together. He was so close that I could see myself in the brown pupils of his eyes, my heart skipped a beat suddenly. All of a sudden, I felt a surge of heat rising up to my face.

"It's nothing, just asking." I quickly lowered my head and took a sip of milk tea. My face won't turn red, will it?!

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw him smile and said, "You look like you have something on your mind? Tell me about it, maybe I can help!"

"Do you know the school's news agency? That damn president actually came up with such a difficult task to test us, asking us to interview special figures and then write a meaningful news interview manuscript. What kind of figure is considered special in his eyes, what kind of manuscript is considered meaningful?" I said with frustration.

"Haha, looks like you're quite biased against the news agency head! It's not good if he hears you scolding him!" Gu Yue Xuan said with a smile.

"As long as you don't say anything, it's fine?" I raised my head and looked into his eyes, saying: "You won't actually go and say it, will you?"

"Haha, you're really interesting. Do you want to join the news agency?"

"Of course, is there a way for you to get in without taking an exam?"

"Entering a company requires an exam, it's inevitable. I can tell you to go interview a special person!"

"Special person? Really? Who is it?"

"Has Mr. Dongfang, the largest shareholder of Jialin High School, ever heard of it?"

I mechanically shook my head and said, "No."

"You... actually attended high school at Jialin!" Gu Yue Xuan shook his head in dismay. "Looks like you need to read up on the history of Jialin High's founding."

He picked up the pen and wrote a string of numbers and an address on the paper, saying: "The phone number is mine, you can call me if something comes up. This address is Mr. Dongfang's home address. Good luck!" He then gave me a charming smile.

Huh? Wishing me good luck? Why does a simple blessing sound strange to me?
