Narrow road meet
Jian Tong was taken aback for a moment, and he only felt that the woman's back figure looked familiar, but it was separated by layers of gauze and he couldn't think of it for a while.
"Another bowl of wine-steamed egg custard? This stuff is good for you girls, nourishes the blood," Lanquan said with a slanted gaze, "and also enriches your milk."
Jian Tong almost spat a mouthful of egg drop soup on him, but could only force a smile and say, "Don't talk while sleeping, don't speak while eating."
"Hmm..." Lan Quan smiled, "So your family also observes these old customs. When I was a kid, I always got punished by my grandma for talking while eating."
Jian Tong lowered her eyelids and said, "It's not about adhering to ancient etiquette, but this meal is too rich for me to digest. It's too expensive and too particular, losing the joy of savoring good food."
Lan Quan raised an eyebrow, "So I was wrong. I thought all teachers liked this kind of thing."
Jian Tong shrugged, "You actually mean to say that all the beautiful girls you brought here to eat before liked this style, right?"
"Hmm..." Lan Quan smiled and said, "Alright."
"Hurry up and eat, we still have to go back to school later." Jian Tong finished eating neatly, the original plate of dishes was not much, mostly garnishes.
"Jian Tong..." Lan Quan narrowed her long, narrow eyes.
"Call Teacher Jian!"
"Hmm... okay, Teacher Jian." Lan Quan smiled, "Teacher Jian has now confirmed whether Lan Quan is ED or not?"
Jian Tong's face suddenly turned red, "How, you still want me to go 'intimate', and specially clarify with that bartender?"
"No need..." Lan Quan smiled slyly and said, "I just want to hear you say it."
Jian Tong gritted his teeth, feeling like his face was about to burn up. "Fine, I'll apologize to you. That night, I was drunk and spoke nonsense. But who made you always absent from school!"
"Hah..." Lan Quan smiled again, narrowing her eyes as she leaned in close to Jian Tong, "How can you be so adorable?"
Lan Quan reached across the table and took off Jian Tong's black-framed glasses from the bridge of his nose, "Don't wear glasses. I like looking at your eyes, they speak."
His fingertips carried a slight coolness as they brushed against her cheek. Jian Tong's heart was in disarray, yet she didn't dare move; if she made a big deal out of it, it would only seem affected.
Just at this juncture, a soft voice suddenly came from outside the silk curtain that served as a partition, "Lanquan, is it you?"
As if the clock struck twelve, the subtle atmosphere between Jian Tong and Lan Quan burst like a bubble. Lan Quan withdrew his fingers in disbelief, hastily raising his eyes to look outside the window, "Miao Yi?"
Jian Tong trembled upon hearing this name and recalled the woman's back view from just now.
She looked up at Lan Quan and saw that the laughter in his eyes had been reined in, replaced by a fervent longing. It was as if just now, she was nothing more than a game to him.
Jian Tong frowned.
"It's really you. Are you here with friends to eat?" Miao Yi walked in with a smile, her watery eyes gazing at Lan Quan, "Where have you been running around these days? I've been worried sick. You're used to everything at home, how can you bear it outside?"
Miao Yi said, extending her hand from behind to Jian Tong, "Hello, I'm Miao Yi. Consider me Lan Quan's... sister."
Jian Tong could only get up and turn around, unexpectedly seeing Miao Yi also slightly revealing a look of surprise, "So it's Miss Jian, nice to meet you."
"Do you know each other?" Lan Quan raised an eyebrow slightly.
