Chapter 125: The Name of the Illness

Chapter 125: The Name of the Illness

  This is just toe!!

Returning home, Keiichi became increasingly upset. He had only raised a few doubts, yet the things Rika said were utterly absurd. If he didn’t know anything, how could he possibly help her? Not only that, but something about Rika’s demeanor at the time felt… off. Could she be sick?

With this thought, Keiichi made up his mind.

He o check out Irie ic. If what Rika said was true, then he’d figure out a solution afterward!

Resolute, Keiichi grabbed his baseball bat a home, running swiftly toward the ic.

  “Where are you going?”

Just as Keiichi was walking dowh toward the ic, a figure suddenly appeared before him.

A white dress, a cute face, and short brown hair—it was Ryuugu Rena.

“Rena? What are you doing here?”

Seeing the girl in front of him, Keiichi asked, his expression growing serious. Rena tilted her head, her curious gaze fixed on him.

“Because I’m worried about you, Keiichi. I feel like you’re about to do something reckless, so…”

As she spoke, her eyes shifted to the baseball bat Keiichi held in his hand.

“Keiichi, what are you pnning to do with that bat so te at night? Hmm? What are you pnning?”

  “This, uh…”

Notig Rena’s gaze, Keiichi instinctively moved the bat behind his back.

“Well, the weather’s oday, so I thought I’d get some practice swinging…”

  “Liar!!!”

Before Keiichi could finish, Rena shouted, cutting him off pletely. Her eyes narrowed, and she stared at him coldly.

“You’re pnning to go to the ic, aren’t you? The teacher told us not to do anything foolish!”

“The teacher never said anything like that!”

Keiichi was certain that Irie-sensei had old them not to go to the ic.

“But that’s what the teacher meant, I just know it…”

Rena’s lips curled into a smile as she stood in the middle of the path, her gaze still fixed on Keiichi.

“Rena and the teacher are ected, you see? Rena knows exactly what the teacher wants. If you do this, you’ll waste all of the teacher’s efforts, won’t you?”

  “Ridiculous!”

  Keiichi’s patience had worn thin.

“I’m just going to check it out. Even if the research facility does exist, that doesn’t prove anything! I’ll just act like I wandered in by act—nothing will happen.”

“So, you’re determio go against the teacher’s wishes?”

Hearing this, Rena’s expression darkened. She narrowed her eyes dangerously and raised her right hand. A sharp machete appeared, glinting coldly in the moonlight.

“In that case, Rena has no choice. Keiichi wants to do something the teacher would hate, but Rena won’t allow it. You still have a ce, Keiichi. Put dow, go home, get a good night’s sleep, and think this through carefully before making a decision, okay?”

  “Get out of my way!!”

Keiichi gripped his bat tightly, gring at Rena with fierce determination.

“I won’t say it again, Rena. I just want to see what’s going on. Why are you so adamant about stopping me?”

As he spoke, Keiichi raised the bat, his eyes cold as he stared at her.

“Move aside, Rena, or I’ll use force. Even if it’s you, I won’t let aop me!”

“Hehehe… Keiichi, you’re so stubborn. But it’s too bad. For the sake of the teacher, Rena has to stop yht here, no matter what.”

Rena raised the rge machete in her hands, her smile unwavering as she stared at Keiichi.

“What a pity, Keiichi. Why, like Satoshi, won’t you listen to everyone? If things tinue like this, won’t you have to transfer schools too? It’s such a shame. I had really hoped we could be good friends, Keiichi.”

The surroundings fell into a deathly silehe moon, once hanging brightly in the sky, was now shrouded in clouds, plunging the world into darkness. At that moment, a voice suddenly rang out.

“What a pity indeed. I also thought Keiichi and I could bee good friends.”

  “Huh?”

Hearing this voice suddenly emerge from behind him, Keiichi froze for a moment. The sed, he felt a jolt of electricity surge through his body.

  “Waaahhhhhh!!”

Amidst the crag sound of electricity, Keiichi cried out in pain and colpsed to the ground, unscious. Rena raised her head and looked toward the source of the voice—a green-haired girl holding a stun gun, now standing behind Keiichi.

“I didn’t expect you to show up too, Shion.”

“Just like you, Rena, I was worried Keiichi might do something foolish, so I followed him. It seems my s were justified. Holy, Keiichi, causing trouble in a pce like this will only bring more problems for Mr. Houjou…”

  “That’s true…”

  “Hehehe…”

  “Hahaha…”

The two girls exged gnces and began to ugh, but the tension in the air did not dissipate. On the trary, it grew heavier. Rena gripped her machete tightly and turo face Shion.

“So, Shion, you didn’t e here just to stop Keiichi, did you?”

  “That’s right.”

At Rena’s question, Shion’s smile faded, her expression turning serious.

“Rena, don’t you think you’ve beeing a little too close to Mr. Houjou tely? That’s what I’m more ed about.”

“If it were Mion, I could uand, but why are you so worried, Shion?”

Rena’s smile didn’t waver as she blinked ily.

“Don’t you already have Satoshi? This isn’t very fair, is it?”

“I have the right to make ges too. After all, people ’t always look back; sometimes, they o look forward.”

As she spoke, Shion raised her stun gun.

“Are you sure about this? Satoshi would cry, you know? And besides, I don’t think Mr. Houjou would like you. Clearly, I’m the one who loves him the most…”

“What does it matter? If Mr. Houjou wanted, he could take you home too.”

Rena raised her machete, pointing it at Shion.

“But as for you, Shion, a two-faced woman like you isn’t suited for Mr. Houjou. I think you’d be better off giving up, don’t you?”

  “Well said…”

  Hearing this, Shion’s expression darkened.

“The’s see if you have what it takes!!”

With a furious roar, Shion lu Rena, stun gun raised, ready to strike.
