  Library

The door opened, and what entered her line of sight was a woman wearing the standard maid uniform, a deep brown Gothic-style dress with a white apron with wavy lace tied around her waist. She looked to be about twenty years old, with a neat short haircut and a pair of dull yet spirited brown eyes under it, and some small freckles on her pale face like those often seen on Europeans.

"Hello! Miss." The maid gave Xuan Yexian a respectful bow, "My name is Jian, and I will be responsible for your daily life for the next few days."

Her demeanor, neither arrogant nor humble, exuded an air of royalty, making it clear that this woman named Jian was no ordinary servant and had a high likelihood of serving the king personally.

"Miss, here are your clean clothes." Jian walked into the room and neatly laid out a few pieces of clothing on the bed. Then he turned around to face Xuan and said, "Miss, is there anything else you need?"

"It's nothing," Xuan said with a faint smile, "Excuse me, is there a study here?"

"Study room?" Jian was momentarily bewildered, but quickly turned his mind around. "You mean the library, right? Yes, do you need me to take Miss there?"

"Uh, thank you." She was not dirty, and compared to the luxurious clothes on the bed, she preferred wearing the men's clothing that Aunt Arans had prepared for her, which was convenient and safe.

"Then follow me," Jian led the way forward, Xuan Ye turned his head to take a look at the room and found that there was nothing to bring along, so he closed the door and followed.

Following behind Jian's back, Xuan Yiran didn't look around curiously like she did before. Instead, she gazed at the figure in front of her and fell into deep thought. Her current situation wasn't exactly dangerous, but it required her to be constantly on guard. As a descendant of the Xuan clan, regardless of whether or not the Xuan clan had rebelled 50 years ago as Aunt Alans said, the fact remained that the war had been sparked by the Xuan clan's actions, implicating many innocent lives and causing countless families to be torn apart. Whether or not it was a member of the Xuan clan who killed King Ails I, she was now the object of hatred for all people on the Slarlanka continent, including those hated by the current King Ails.

The king now tells her that for the time being, apart from those who already know her true identity, the fact that she is a descendant of the Xuan clan must be kept secret.

Xuan Yanran will certainly listen and also think about her own life safety.

There was no trust between her and King Els, just like calling a servant to take care of her now, Jian might be the one arranged by King Els to monitor her. No matter what, Xuan Yueran chose not to believe either Jian or the king.
