No leisurely elegance

  No leisurely elegance

The library was actually not far from where Xuan Yiran lived. After turning two corners, they finally arrived at the entrance.

"Miss, please," he said, stretching out his hand to gently open the door.

As she walked into the study, Xuan Xiran almost lost her footing. The life of a noble was truly unimaginable to her. The room's internal structure was square in shape, with gold-plated walls and bookshelves installed on all four sides. The bookshelves were lined with neat rows of books, while classical wallpaper paintings adorned the walls. In the center of the study, there was a spacious area with a long, rectangular red velvet carpet laid out in the middle. On top of it was placed an antique square-shaped desk, several intricately carved European-style armchairs, and a crystal chandelier suspended from the ceiling. The reflection of the light momentarily made this opulent study shed its common luxuriousness, casting a warm tone over everything.

"Miss, is there anything else you need?" Jian's voice brought back Xuan Yiran's line of sight. "No, I'll just read a book and wait for myself to go back." All the way here she remembered the route, so she wasn't afraid of getting lost, nor did she want Jian to stay by her side all the time.

"I understand." Jian answered without hesitation or pause, she slightly bowed to Xuan Yiran and retreated out the door, then gently closed it behind her and left.

Listening to the footsteps getting farther and farther away, until they truly disappeared, Xuan Yuran's originally calm eyes suddenly narrowed. She turned around and walked in the direction of the books. She didn't come here with a leisurely attitude to read books, but to find some materials, possibly books that recorded the history of the Xuan clan.

Time flies by every minute and second

Xuan Xian walked past row after row of bookshelves, roughly flipping through the books on each one. Unfortunately, aside from some books with unreadable characters, the books here were almost all introductory texts about common knowledge of the Sri Lanka continent or political ethics of the past and present.
