Chapter 6: The Devil of Wrath
The sweltering weather continued until the first summer rain arrived, washing away the gloomy campus and gradually dissipating the scorching heat of midsummer. The damp air was filled with the scent of mud and trees, and the tree tops that had been washed by the rainstorm were even more vibrant and bright green.
For the upcoming art competition, everyone is preparing seriously. Lin Yuchen joined the ballet group because since she was a child, her best skill has always been ballet. She likes to dance freely like the swans by the Swan Lake, and she has always believed in the nobility of the swan, which understands how to win dazzling light with its own efforts.
After weeks of dance practice, the kind minister finally agreed that this Sunday they didn't have to stay in school for practice and could go home to rest. On Friday afternoon, some classmates had already packed their bags early to head home. Lin Yuchen suddenly remembered that it had been almost a month since she last went home, and she was craving her mom's cake, the flowers her dad had cut and put in the vase in her room, and the flower tea her brother had brewed. Although she had been away from home for so long and missed it every day and night to the point of tears, she still had to endure it.
In Jin Yi, she can learn the best dance. Jin Yi's dance major is the most famous in the country, and her dream is to be a free dancer, dancing for freedom, for life and for emotion.
The sunshine outside the window is still bright and beautiful, Lin Yu Chen decided to go home and take a look, and also put her dance shoes in her backpack. At home, there is a special dance studio designed for her, she has more space and time to practice, this time's art competition she must work very hard, she hopes that all of Jin Yi's students can recognize her ability beyond her family background.
Lin Yuchen stood at the school gate, waiting for the bus to the city, quietly standing there, admiring the warmest sunlight in the afternoon. Even though that kind of sunlight was unbearably hot in other people's eyes, but in Lin Yuchen's eyes, everything was beautiful and worth looking forward to.
She had been waiting for nearly half an hour, but still no bus came. Lin Yuchen, who was eager to go home, began to get anxious. The students coming out of the school were all driving their own cars or taking the cars sent by their families on their way home. One after another luxurious sports car whizzed past her, intentionally or unintentionally showing off to her. Lin Yuchen just smiled faintly, completely unbothered. Indeed, such luxury was nothing special for her; she had already gotten tired of this kind of life.
Suddenly, a sapphire blue Mercedes-Benz stopped in front of her, and two heavily made-up girls got out of the car. Their high-heeled shoes clicked on the cement floor, making a "clicking" sound. The pungent smell of perfume wafted towards Lin Yuchen, who slightly furrowed her brow. She was allergic to perfume, so every time her brother came back from France and brought her perfume, she would give it away to someone else.
She had a feeling that something was amiss.
Two girls lifted their faces, which were heavily powdered, and their thick eye shadow looked particularly terrifying. They put on a condescending attitude, looking at Lin Yuchen with disdain, one of them humming coldly in her mouth.
"Are you Lin Yuchen?" A sharp and arrogant voice came from the girl on the left.
"I am." Suddenly realizing the newcomer was not good, she spoke cautiously.
"Hmph, I thought you were someone who could get Prince Yan to vouch for you, but it turns out you're just a poor wretch after all. No big deal." The speaker glanced away with an air of disdain.
"With your country bumpkin appearance, it's better to stay away from Prince Yan, lest you tarnish his reputation. You don't even need to think with that brain of yours, just based on the fact that you're a poor devil, what qualifications do you have to stand by his side?" The girl on the right almost shouted out loud.
Lin Yuchen just quietly listened, the smile at the corner of her mouth still there. She had long been mentally prepared, these words she wouldn't take to heart, she would treat it as something that must be endured in the process of growing up. Just as she was still coming back to herself, the girl on the left slapped her across the face, a burning pain spreading across her right cheek, Lin Yuchen covered her slapped face with her hand, and when she lifted her head, the smile was still blooming on her stubborn face.
The girl who hit her was stunned by her smile, and she was slightly dazed for a moment. She couldn't believe that someone who had just been slapped could still smile at others, unless that person was an idiot. That's right, that person must be an idiot.
"What are you laughing at? What's so funny? This slap is on behalf of Yul Wang-ssi, it's a warning for your disrespect towards him the last time at the basketball court." She was there that day too, and no one had ever dared to be rude to Yul Wang-ssi before. She was just a transfer student, nothing special about her, but she wouldn't let anyone break the rules. She had liked Yul Wang-ssi for a long time, and as long as she wanted something, there was nothing she couldn't get.
"If there's nothing else, I'm going home." She said and turned around to leave the bus stop, not wanting to bother with those two annoying people.
"Stop, I haven't finished speaking." The girl on the right seemed unwilling to let her go like that.
"Sorry, I'm going home." She maintained her last dignity in the face of them, just as she turned to leave, the two girls behind her pulled her hard and pushed her towards the bus stop. With a mind not wanting to hurt them, Lin Yuchen didn't notice their movements at all, and accidentally bumped her knee on the platform, falling flat on the ground.
When she lifted her head, she saw the two girls' triumphant smiles. Her scraped knee was slowly oozing out blood, and the unbearable pain was spreading everywhere, hurting so much that she furrowed her brow. But with a good temper, she didn't want to fight back, fearing she might hurt them.
"Serves you right!" A cold sneer came from the girl on the left.
"You're too much!" A male voice with a strong smell of gunpowder came from behind them. When the two girls turned their heads to look at the speaker, he ruthlessly gave each of them a punch on their heavily powdered faces.
"Scram!" The boy spat out a single word, his eyes gleaming with an icy indifference. Those two girls covered their faces and took a closer look at the newcomer, both of them exclaiming in surprise: "Lù... Prince Lù!!"
"Get lost!" He didn't want to waste words on them. Just now, he was driving out of school and saw the two of them doing their "good deed". Originally, he wanted to mind his own business, but when he took a closer look at the person being bullied, he couldn't understand why he ended up walking over there either.
Those two girls had just caught his piercing gaze and hastily turned around to run back to their own car, the sapphire blue Mercedes disappearing from view at top speed. They were well aware of Young Master Yu's explosive temper; whoever provoked him would not be able to stay in Jin Yi anymore.
"Hey, is that one dead or not?" The boy looked at Lin Yuchen who was still sitting on the ground, his hands in his pockets, with a lazy and arrogant look, gazing at her disheveled appearance, his words were harsh to the point of being unbearable.
"I'm not a pig! And I'm still... perfectly fine!" The last sentence she said with special emphasis, just to remind him that he had misspoken.
"You're an idiot, why didn't you fight back when they hit you?"
"Beating people isn't my specialty." She said this sentence with the intention of implying that his beating was unjust.
"Are you brainless or has your brain gone moldy? You're stupid to this extent!" He mercilessly added insult to injury, without any thoughts of sympathy. Lin Yuchen helplessly smiled, stood up by himself, patted the mud off his clothes, and completely ignored his mockery.
"Just now, thank you." Standing in front of him, she looked at him clearly for the first time, his tall stature, handsome and lovely face, and that innate noble aura, no wonder those girls were so crazy about him.
"What are you doing standing here?" He suddenly asked this sentence without responding to her thanks.
"We're waiting for the bus to go home."
"Wait... wait for the bus?" He looked at her as if he had just heard a huge joke, incredulous. It seemed she really wasn't a noble's child. Every student who could get into Jin Yi had their own private car, even if they couldn't drive themselves, there were drivers to pick them up.
"Yes, you didn't hear wrong, I'm waiting for the bus." She looked at him with an incredulous expression and smiled slightly. This was actually her first time taking a bus.
"I'm speechless! Who would wait for a bus in such hot weather?! I knew you were stupid, but I didn't know you were stupid to this extent." His vicious mouth spared no one.
"Can't your mouth be less poisonous?" She didn't know why, but every time she saw him, her good temper would disappear.
"I'm like this, you're not getting to know me for the first time, are you?" His innocent yet playful tone made her heart itch, and she really wanted to punch his handsome face hard and wipe off his smug smile.
"I'm too lazy to bother with you." Lin Yuchen turned around and prepared to leave, not wanting to waste any more words on him.
"Hey, do you need me to send you home?" He glanced over, saying with a bit of embarrassment. This was the first time his big brother had ever proactively offered to send someone home; usually it was others who jumped into his car and asked him to take them. This time was an exception.
"It's okay, I can take a taxi back myself." She didn't want him to know her identity, transferring to Jin Yi was her choice, and she would never regret it.
"Idiot, are you out of your mind?! This young master kindly sent you home, if it were someone else they would have already kowtowed in gratitude. You actually... don't even show appreciation!! Hearing her refusal, he was filled with indignation. He had never been refused by anyone before, and she actually refused him! That idiot, actually refusing him! He really wished he could go over there and strangle her to death!"
"Then you can go find someone else." She said with an innocent face, which made him even more annoyed.
"Do you know, I have the urge to kill someone!" He smiled charmingly, his handsome face filled with a dangerous aura. He stepped closer and closer to her, until he backed her into the bus stop sign, then he fiercely punched out, but just as she saw the fist coming towards her, Lin Yuchen tightly closed her eyes and waited for the impact, if she was going to die, so be it, she had given up on life today! But after waiting for a long time, there was no punch, instead, she heard a loud crash from behind her, and she thought, it wasn't her who got hurt, but the bus stop sign.
She slightly opened her eyes and saw the burning anger in his, she knew he was angry not because she didn't let him send her home, but because her refusal had hurt his pride and dignity. A proud man like him only rejected others, he wouldn't allow others to reject him.
"Don't let me see you again! Hmph..." He turned his head, got into the black sports car without looking back, and sped away with a whoosh. The sports car quickly disappeared from Lin Yu Chen's sight, she opened her mouth, wanting to say something but it was too late.
None of them noticed that in the red sports car under the nearby camphor tree, there was a person who had been watching them for a long time, with a seductive smile filled with cold resentment and jealousy.
Summer has passed, the weather is still hot and unbearable, in the azure sky you can occasionally see a few white clouds floating by, casting a faint shadow on the ground. The dark green treetops are still shining under the sunlight, the cicadas' chirping sounds echoing endlessly in the sultry air.
Fairy tales and vanilla dreams, with a strong sweet taste, also mixed with temptation. Bleached the clear sky in memory, happiness began to grow tender wings.
