Chapter 9 The Princes Match

  Chapter 9 The Prince's Match

In Jin Yi, the sunshine is always so bright and dazzling. A group of girls surrounded the spacious tennis court, with people on the court preparing for a match. Every move made by the two players would make the surrounding girls burst into cheers that echoed through the sky above Jin Yi.

"If I win, you have to promise me to cancel this gathering." Zhang Lüqian put the racket on his shoulder, with a confident look. He didn't like going to gatherings, every time he was surrounded by a group of girls who were like crazy fans, pulling him to take photos, he hated that feeling.

"Why don't you choose your strong point and compete with me?" Yan Zi Yi smiled faintly, tennis was his strong point, but he didn't understand why Zhang Lv Qian didn't choose basketball to compete with him.

"It's so easy to win you, it's no fun." He didn't like playing games with low IQs, and competitions were the same, too easy to win for him had no sense of accomplishment.

"How confident are you that you can beat me?" Zhi Yan raised an eyebrow, looking at his ignorant cousin with a hint of a smile.

"Absolutely one hundred percent." Squinting his eyes, Zhang Lüqian was exceptionally confident.

"Oh, so confident? Then you win first and we'll talk later!" As soon as he finished speaking, he served the ball, and immediately the girls outside the court started screaming, supporting either Rui Wangzi or Yan Wangzi, cheering on their idols.

After three rounds, the two people were evenly matched, with their scores closely tied. During halftime, Yan Ziye smiled as he accepted a bottle of water from a female fan and thanked her, which also triggered screams from the crowd of girls.

"Lu, you've been practicing tennis diligently, haven't you?" He never praised him because he knew his younger cousin's personality was prone to arrogance and couldn't be flattered. Since the last time they played together, he knew Lu wouldn't concede defeat and would definitely work hard to catch up with him. However, he didn't expect it to happen so quickly. No wonder Lu was so confident on court earlier; it turned out he had already mastered his skills.

"You know, I don't like losing to the same person twice." From his serious expression, Yan Zi could tell that he had made up his mind to win against him.

The final game, 15-15, the score was tied between the two. The girls outside who were supporting both sides were shouting loudly, every pair of eyes filled with anticipation, hoping their own side would win.

Suddenly, Zhang Lvqian found the opportunity to take advantage of Yan Zi's slight distraction, swung his racket and swept the ball past him. The ball hit the ground before Yan Zi could react, and at this moment, the referee's whistle sounded, ending the match.

30 to 15, Zhang Lvqian wins. The whole stadium erupted in cheers, and many girls surrounded Zhang Lvqian to congratulate him excitedly, while Yan Ziyu squeezed out of the crowd, his eyes anxiously searching for that familiar figure he had seen. If he hadn't lost focus after seeing that figure, he wouldn't have lost.

Outside the court, he stood alone desolately, his eyes fixed on the place where that figure disappeared, and his heart ached slightly. Even after such a long time, some of the sorrow and longing that had settled in his heart could not be shaken off.

Tomorrow is the literary competition, and the student union members are nervously preparing. The external affairs department is busy setting up the scene, the learning department has finalized the performance list and background subtitle settings, everything is ready. Secretary General Xu Xiaoxiao stood under the stage supervising the preparation work, she was very clear about how important this competition was to Yan Wangzi, she did not allow any mistakes.

"Xiao Xiao, you've worked hard!" Yan Zi Yi suddenly appeared behind her, making Xu Xiao Xiao slightly surprised. Normally, he wouldn't personally come to supervise the preparation work because he trusted the student union's high-level personnel 100%, and didn't need to worry about these small matters. His appearance made Xu Xiao Xiao feel more deeply the importance of this competition.

"Yan, you're here." Seeing him, she felt extremely delighted, and a lovely smile bloomed at the corner of her mouth.

"How's the preparation going?" Looking at her slender figure, thinking that as a secretary-general she had to deal with a lot of work, he felt a little bit heartbroken.

"Ah, it's about time." She wanted to know why he had come here, but the words reached her lips and she didn't know how to say them.

"Good job!" She was the youngest in the student union, and although everyone took good care of her, he tried not to put too much pressure on her, not for any reason, but because he couldn't bear to.

"This is what I should do, Yan..." The words after that, she didn't know whether she should say or not.

"What do you want to say?" The gentle words sounded in her ears but were especially heart-wrenching, he should know what she wanted to say.

"She also knew that bringing up that person would only make him more sad, but she wanted to know if after all these years, he had accepted reality and forgotten about that person."

"Xiao Xiao, I know what you want to say. The past is already gone, and I don't have any extra time to waste on resentment or blame. Time isn't waiting for me, it's time for me to move forward." These words came out of his mouth so calmly, but the listener's face was filled with pain.

"Really? Maybe!" Although she didn't understand what he was thinking, she knew he hadn't let go, after all, emotional matters couldn't be settled with just words.
