Chapter 50

Rev makes his way back to Eaven, flying over the jungle on the dragon’s back that he had been clinging on to for dear life. Rev had experienced speed like that before, when all the sudden the dragon hears the queen’s cries. It imminently flies around and back towards Tartarus.

“Hey what are you doing!” Rev asks.

“Loka has betrayed the queen. You are to be taken back to Tartarus.” The dragons say.

Rev jumps off the dragon and throws his dagger into its eye. The dragon flicks its tail at Rev. Rev then swaps with the dagger and pulls it back at the same time. Rev sends a fire blast into the dragon's eye. The dragon cries out in pain as it sent crashing down. Rev makes sure to get off the dragon before it hit the ground. He jumps off on a nearby branch of a tree. The dragon’s right eye is nothing more than a puddle now. He tries to look around for Rev. Then lets out his fire breath, burning the surrounding trees. Rev bolts between the tree. He then tries to mimic that action of Loka with his increased speed skill. Rev begins to move faster and faster, but so realizes he doesn’t know how to stop. He wraps around back to the dragon and hurls himself at it.

  bang…

The impact is anticlimactic, seeming to do more damage to Rev’s fist than the scales of the dragon. It seems Rev’s body is not fit for this style of combat. The speed skill had also tired Rev out more than expected. The dragon quickly pinned Rev down below his sharped claws. Rev looked more annoyed than scared at the time. The dragon leans in close, its breath hot and heavy.

“Man, I really thought that would work…” Rev says.

“It seems you're stupider than you look,” the dragon tells Rev.

Rev looks up at the dragons with a pissed off expression, then takes a breath. He flicks his blade to a nearby tree and quickly swaps with it. While the dragon tries to figure out where he went. “More controlled this time,” Rev thinks. He jumped off a tree and attack the dragon from his blind spot caused by his missing eye. Rev stuck his hands in the empty eye socket.

  “Red Dwarf” Rev whispers.

  SSEER!

A bright red light flicked for no more than a second. This time the attack was much more tamed only effecting a 20 feet radius. The intense light instantly fried the dragon’s brain, causing its body to fall almost motionless.

“That was way better than before.” Rev says.

He had made sure to shrink down the attacks range as much as he could to not waste any unnecessary source in the attack. The light the attack gave off was still blinding to look at, though. Rev climbed down and retrieved his dagger. He looks around and surprisingly seems to know where he was. He had spent almost half a year in these jungles. The thought of it made him think of Ein. Rev sat down and leaned against the dragon. He looks back at where Tartarus was, not being able to see anyone coming. He finally took some time to rest and think about what had just happened.

“What if Loka dies…” Rev whispers.

Loka makes falls down into the warm water below. “This isn’t good…I didn’t think it would take up that much source,” Loka thinks. Loka holds on to the source sphere as he sinks to the ocean floor.

Note: Art used “Limbo”, Type:??? Tier: Specail Art .

In Limbo, a battle of source will be forced where time in the outside world stops when the winner is decided, he will capture the loser’s soul in an orb. While their soul is in the orb, their body is frozen in time and can not be damaged in any way. It is not known if the trapped soul in the orb can experience time, or anything for that matter, but if the orb is to break, the soul inside will instantly return to their body.

loka makes sure to create a concent air art to keep him breathing. Mayhem finally breaks free, but fails to help the queen. So be quickly gets away from her and frees the other dragons around her and on. He blasts his way through the weaker ice, making his way to the surface.

  “…”

Mayhem was speechless; the ice had spread to the shore and beyond. It continued to spread into the distant desert.

“RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!” Mayhem let out a battle cry.

The lesser dragon in the ice gained empowerment. This, along with Mayhem’s blast breath, leads the dragons to freedom.

“GO TO EAVEN NOW!!” Mayhem orders.

The dragons all take off towards Eaven at top speeds. The thunderless boom of their take offs echoes throughout the now frozen landscape of Tartarus. They soared passed Loka who layed barely conscious at the bottom of the ocean. His source count was so low now that the dragons thought nothing of it as they flow passed him. They do come to a stop as they see Thánatos frozen in the air.

  “Thánatos?”

  “Thánatos?”

You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story.

The dragons try to get his attention, but it’s as if he’s not alive. One dragon reaches out and touches him. They all look at eachother in mass confusion.

“Should we tell Mayhem about this?” A dragon asks.

“I’ll go tell him everyone else should go to Eaven and find Loka, like Mayhem said.”

One dragon flies back towards Tartarus while the rest continue on their path towards Eaven. Rev gathered his thoughts and looked towards the distant mountains. He then climbed up as high as he could, then wind blasted himself up even higher. He took a look towards the distance ocean.

“What is that?” Rev whispers to himself.

Not being able to fully make it out, he floats his way down and turns his attention to the open jungle that surrounds him. He sees the remanence of a battle. He tracks the remanence of loose source in the air. It leads him to the corpses of a dragon, or what he assumed it had to be. He takes a better look around, finding one after another. “Three dragons dead, who could've done this? Maybe it was Loka before he went to get me,” Rev thought. Rev doesn’t know what to make of this. Conflicting thoughts about what to do flooded Rev’s mind. “Do I wait for Loka? No, he actually seemed…scared of the dragon queen. If he releases her, then she’s sure to be right behind Loka when he leaves. What if he doesn’t even come here? Maybe he has a trap set up. I can never seem to know what that monster is thinking, but…that’s assuming he makes it out of there alive in the first place. That would me he traded his life for mine…that can’t be right. He’s only keeping me alive to kill me later. He said it himself. Someone can’t expect to kill another if they are dead themself. He doesn’t gain anything if he dies to save me. I refuse to believe he would die, not like this. His life is mine to claim…” Rev comes to a stop. He lays there in the familiar jungle.

“Ein…what would you do?” Rev whispers to himself.

Rev closes his eye and relaxes for a bit. He hadn’t spelt all night while on the dragon’s back due to not trusting him, but now it seemed ok to just take a little nap. “It took all night for me to get here, so if Loka does come. It won’t be for a while,” Rev thinks to himself as he drifts off. As Rev slept, he dreamed of Loka, why he need his eyes so badly. He dreamed of Ein and the simpler times. The humid jungle made the perfect place for Rev’s nap, but he was soon awake.

  1 hour later.

“help…please…” a faint voice tried to cry out.

  Rev instantly awoke.

  “Who’s there?” Rev asked.

He spotted the faint fragments of source close by. He walked over to the dismantled person.

“Please…Judas…please help h-” The man spoke his final word, leaving the rest in Rev’s now bloody hands.

“Judas?…” Rev says, trying to remember.

“Judas! he that blessed elf from Morton…that’s right, he fought with Ein…” Rev’s face tightened at the thought.

He then thought back to the dragons from before. They seemed weaker than what he remembered Ash to be. “The dragons must have attacked Morton” Rev thought. He looked in the direction of where the man had come from and climbed up high.

  “Is that it…” Rev says.

Morton had already looked like it was a pile of forgotten ruins, but now it seemed like nothing more than a pile of stones. Rev quickly made his way over, dashing from tree top to tree top. The closer he gets, the more the memoirs come flooding back. They flash in front of him, the cries of the people. How heavily Ein’s body felt in his arms. The ear piercing roar of Ash. “Am stronger now…I…I can finally help them…” Rev thinks. He pushes himself further and further, gathering more and more speed.

“I don’t need to stop, i just need to get there in time.” Rev said to himself.

His muscles began to tighten. The surrounding air pressed heavily on his face. “I can’t…go ant faster,” Rev thought. soon he couldn’t open his eye. The pressure was too much, just like for. “No…not now. I need to make it.” Rev thought. feeling the air around him, he began to spread his source out and push the air around him away. As soon as he did, the pressure was gone and so was Rev. He moved faster than any normal eye could track. At his speeds Rev flew right over a lake as he headed straight for Morton.

  -25 mins later

Rev tries to slow down as he approaches the battered walls of Morton. He releases the air around him, then quickly pulls it back towards him to slow him down the best he can. He tumbles into an empty street, leaving a cloud of dust in his trail. Once he comes to a stop, he looks around.

“No, am too late…” Rev whispered.

Rev clenched his hand into a tight fist. “Those MONSTER! do they only exit to destroy? Tell me all-knowing one’s ANSWER ME!” Rev cried out to the twin gods.

Memories of the ruined city filled his mind. He heard the people’s screams echo throughout the city. He stared at the blood that had seemed to cover the whole city. Rev’s breathing increased as he dropped to his knees and felt the blood on his hands.

“The dragons…they came here looking for me, didn’t they…they only want me to get at Loka? Loka, LOKA, LOKA! LOKA! LOKA! LOKA! LOKA! LOKA! LOKA! LOKA! LOKA!” Rev screamed as he drove his fists in to the ground. His blood now mixing with the slaughtered peoples.

“it always Loka! the man that made the world his enemy, for what? what does he want? Why must the world suffer for greater plan? To bring about a new world, my ass. By the time he’s done, there will be no world to conquer…only a pile of dust below his feet.” Rev says.

“Mayhem, Thánatos is…well frozen, but there’s no ice around him.” The dragon tries to explain.

“Are you saying Thánatos lost to LOKA!” Mayhem scuffs.

“I don’t have time for this. I must free the queen before she causes all of Tartarus to freeze over! Return to the others now!” Mayhem yells.

The dragons flies back to the others, while Mayhem stays behind. Mayhem watches as the dragon leaves a cold, dead expression on his face, but once he’s gone away, his face twist and into a devilish grin. “Thánatos and the queen are unable to move are they” He chuckles. “That means I’m at that the top of the food chain. I’m the leader!” Mayhem thinks to himself. He glances down at the frozen queen, then at the spreading frost over taking Tartarus. He scuffs, “No more waiting around for the right time. No more capturing and not killing. No, I Shall rule a kingdom much large then this. I shall bring this world to its knees. The queen's fear for that elf will not chain us down no longer! We will have are revenge!” he thinks. He caries that wicked smiles as he bolts off into the distance, leaving the frozen queen behind. As he bolts forward, he lets out a shriek of terror, causing the dragon from before ears to bleed out and eyes to pop out from their skull. Mayhem grabs hold of him and bits his head off, licking his scale covered lips as he rips and tares at the dragon’s body.

“I NEED MORE!” Mayhem calls out.

“Hey! Mayhem! free me already!” The queen says through her source pulses.

Mayhem looks back with a look of destain. “I don’t have to listen to you any more mother” his smile grows wind and before long he’s gone.

  “Mayhem! MAYHEM!”

the queen attempts to send out a message to the other dragons, but Mayhem disrupts the source waves, breaking up the intended message.

“Your rule has come to an end.” Mayhem says.
