Lin Yue and Su Lu
When I opened my eyes, it was already 10 o'clock. The rain outside was getting heavier and heavier, and my mood was as gloomy as the wet scene outside. After a while, I walked out of the room and slumped onto the sofa in the living room, still feeling dizzy from last night's drinking. My brain felt like it had just been washed clean, and all I could remember were a few fragmented pieces of what happened last night.
I rubbed my temples and found Yu Tian's number in my phonebook, but I hung up as soon as it connected, feeling guilty. At that moment, a light and cheerful laughter came from the door opposite me. Then, the door opened, and Lin Yue and the girl walked out with the same expression they had when they entered yesterday.
She looked at me with a particularly timid gaze, as if I could jump up and eat her. So Lin Yue gently patted her shoulder, "Didn't you just say you were hungry? Let's go downstairs to eat."
And I know that this "we" absolutely does not include me, because Lin Yue has already filtered me out like polluted air.
I stared at their backs as they left side by side, and I really wanted to know what had happened in that room last night. This was not the Lin Yue I knew, this world is simply terrible, absurd.
All I could do was to leave as soon as possible. But in the end, I still couldn't escape. When I passed by the second-floor restaurant, I was stopped by that girl. I wanted to pretend not to hear and continue walking forward, but my two feet automatically walked to their table. Lin Yue lowered his head and didn't look at me. I deliberately coughed twice and sat down beside him, even directly picking up the siu mai from his plate and eating it.
Perhaps because of me, the atmosphere at this table became even more eerie. Finally, the girl couldn't take it anymore, poured a cup of tea and handed it to me, "Sister, my name is Su Lu."
I continued eating with my head down, thinking to myself what her name had to do with me and that I wasn't even her sister. But Su Lü was relentless, as if she wouldn't be satisfied until I drank that cup of tea.
I had no choice but to take it over and drink it all in one breath, and while drinking tea, I didn't notice the subtle change in the atmosphere around me.
Su Lu looked at me putting down the cup and smiled even more happily. She looked at Lin Yue, "I told you, this time I won."
I'm all ears but it's all Greek to me.
"Sister, the tea I just gave you is a hangover cure. Lin Yue said that if you're angry with him, you definitely won't drink it, so I said I have a way to deal with it. Do you feel a bit better now? Are you still uncomfortable? Otherwise, we can send you back home."
I almost flipped the table when I heard this, Su Lü called me "sister" but directly used Lin Yue's name. Moreover, it was just between the two of us, which made it even more piercing than before. In just a few hours, I became an outsider between them and played a joke-like role in their direct betting game.
Lin Yue probably guessed I wouldn't be happy, and he finally stopped treating me like air.
"I went back to the company to work overtime last night."
"Oh."
I should have been relieved by Lin Yue's explanation, but for some reason, I couldn't shake off the feeling of unease. My gaze kept drifting back to my phone on the table until it suddenly rang.
The two words "Yu Tian" were clearly written on it, I saw it, and Lin Yue should have seen it too. I didn't pay attention to Lin Yue's suddenly changed eyes, grabbed the phone and rushed away.
